Splinter Cell Double Agent (Multiplayer demo)

Just thought id start this thred as the multiplayer demos out now, and the single players out with the next issue of OXM not to mention the game out on the 20th. Just has a quick play on it, i havnt played multiplayer before so dont know how this compares to chaos theory but ill give my impressions anyway.

From what ive played so far i feel the physics have been much improved and are more fluent then in previous games and the game overall runs alot smother. From what ive played so far ive had no tearing or and problems with the graphics or sound. Im really enjoying this at the moment although can see myself playing single player alot more than the multiplayer, but i like this little demo as it gives you an impression of the single player game. Overall very impressed bring on 20th oct

Theres a help section you can select which tell you everything mate , can you do create privite matchs?

its best to go into coop challenges first to learn

its a pisser you can't set up private games, i go into games and invite people but the spaces fill up with randoms straight away

i am a massive splinter cell fan but was on a real downer about this until i tried the demo, fully pumped again now

Being a Merc rocks I reckon. I prefer it to being a spy at the moment. How do you create games? I can't seem to find the option, but I'll happily host some matches for you guys. I'm having trouble connecting, so I'd rather set up my own matches. It seems that hosts are chosen randomly.

Same im having a very hard time tryign to get into a game atm think ill leave it and try again after worked, really looking forward to this now just hope they come through and make it region free ive still got to wait for PA to ship it though

The game itself is really good but the bugs are bad. Really bad. Some highlights:

- 50% of the time you join a game it will hang on Joining a game forcing you to restart.
- Game randomly boots everyone in the lobby sometimes.
^^ Think they'll be fixed before the full game? Wishful thinking - I'm pretty sure the game went gold before this demo. This demo is pretty much the full game without features (the ones that are locked) These would make no impact on the above. They clearly haven't played their own game or they would have noticed these glaring bugs. This happens pretty much EVERY ubisoft game; when will you learn?
- When some one on the enemy team leaves a game it will display one of the remaining enemies name on the scoreboard twice.
- In at least 2 of the games I've played (and I've only played about 5 due to the awful joining problems) half way through all players have been unable to talk to each other AND merc crouching has caused problems with the environment such as: Getting stuck inside doors and my body being half way underneath the map.
- Periods of lag cause all players game to freeze for a second seeming more like a framerate problem rather than latency.
- In some servers the whole grappeling hook thing mercs have just plainly doesn't work. Pressing A will show an animation of you going over the bar but you will remain where you pressed A.

I had a quick blast and only problem was a bit of lag, oh and the fact that im crap at it. never played MP Splinter Cell so would appreciate playing it with peeps on here. Feel free to add me to your friends list

Agree, with Matt - even tried to join a game with Matt in the lobby, and it kept telling me the host had ended the session, even though it had you as being in the lobby.

Still, had a couple of games and it seemed alright, I'm another noob at MP Splinter Cell, but the pre-order stays at the mo.

Yeah I'm enjoying this. Love the echo feature when you detect a spy - really makes you panic. On first play I was like 'what the **** I cant see ****' but being in the dark is actually very cool. Seems to run nicely, no tearing/slowdown, the framerate varies a teeny bit in places but nowhere near enough of a jump to be 'slowdown'. Impressed so far, another demo thats potentially got a sale for a game I just wasn't paying any attention to whatsoever. Good stuff.

You know about the mercs' torch right? Press left on the d-pad, and up and down to adjust.

i have had a couple of joining issues but i generally get in alright

i am loving it though

haven't managed to play any versus as bitches keep quitting when they are mercs (tried twice) but the coop challenges r0xx0rs

i do find them too easy though. i am t3h uber spy
