Did you ever have to use an eternal wakestone?

Also, the new game plus, is like another New game (non-plus) worth of content?
Thanks, yeh the eternal wakestone is really hard to get and gives you a trophy when you use it to revive a few people. New game + let's you carry over some stuff like stats/items but it's the same playthrough. 🙂. The end game is quite good if you go for the secret ending!

No you have to do something extra during the ending to get to the 'unmoored world' but I'll not spoil it if you want to find it

Took my time with this, doing a few quests a week, used ferrystone 3 times, levelled up fighter/war/thief to 9, got to level 41, then out of blue i stumbled into the final fight without me having seen about 40% of the map (never saw the 3rd city, magic archer unlock or most of the mist forest stuff). Beat it first go without looking up the sequence breaker, then got dumped back to redo the final fight.. paused the game and read about the endgame and new-game plus (enemies don't increase in power seems a game killer)... yeah... no, i'm not one for games with time limits and death resetting all progress, ballsy move by devs but i'm not interested in that even with a pocket full of wake stones.

Overall i'm not entirely won over by the big change to physics based movement and combat, sure it makes for a laugh and the occasional great moments but more likely than not it's so very slow, has that splurging uncharted like movement on tight ledges and getting knocked down feels like i'm playing a wrestling simulation game waiting for the enemy to climb the top rope for a elbow drop while im dizzy. And while they keep the heart of DD1 exploration, the lack of DD1s double jump kills it for melee (i have seen videos of what thiefs can do).

The story is very easy to miss large amounts of it and quite often quests just fail out of nowhere or you get messages from random npcs to see someone and you go to them for nothing to happen adding to alot of frustration, and while i do like the game doesn't tell you where to go much, it desperately needs some sort of flag for starting quests outside of just bumbling around talking to every npc like you i've been dropped into early 2000's MMORPG.

For me DD1/DA is a better game in almost every aspect (levelling up your carry weight and camping is a nice addition) and i miss Mystic Knight Bangai-O like beam counter killing the frame-rate.

Time to try other new games out and come back later to try endgame when i feel up for a challenge or patched a better new-game plus.

You no likey the combat? Sucks you finished it like that. Did you unlock the true ending?

Honestly, apart from quest limbo moments, in my opinion this buries DD1 in every way. It's what the first should have been.

It's fine enough, they just went overboard with falling of ledges, the stunlock animation and getting knocked to the floor. I was hoping for DD1 with the lessons learned from monster hunter world.

After sitting on this for a long time and deciding not to get a pro for the time being, I decided to give this a go.

Loving it so far. Though I have learned the hard way that this is effing brutal. Level 15 at the moment I'm just running around exploring and levelling up. Some of the quests are really annoying, losing your camping gear is super frustrating and because I read that quests are timed, I'm too scared to talk to anyone lest I trigger a quest I cannot finish in time. Anyway my plan is to power level and go from there.

Fought a Minotaur and couple of Ogres so far, I love these DD big monster fights, so good. Tried to fight a Griffin but even my suped up lightning spell did bugger all so I did a Brave Ser Robin and bravely ran away.

Playing a mage which is a hell of a lot of fun. My pawn Jhary is a fighter. A good combo. Not sure when I will respec, will probably max out mage first.

If anyone wants to share their OP pawn for me to use and abuse, let me know

Anyway this game so far is like crack cocaine.

The Pawns are absolutely hilarious, the random stuff they come out with and bonkers situations you end up in is what drives me on in this game.

Looks gorgeous on Pro as well.

Had a typical DD moment ; was fighting a minotaur ; doing well, all of a sudden a chimera comes down and smashes up to pieces

My main Pawn (miss spanky) has an absolute hard on for Ogres the bigger the better, and will mercilessly climb a cliff side and jump them without fail at all opportunities, even when I can’t see one, bang she’s off in a random direction on her next ogre adventure, “don’t worry my lord I’ve got this one, leave it to me!” She proclaims as she’s stabbing it in the head AND healing me at the same time.

Shes either cursed, awesome, or an absolute twat, or maybe all of it.

I'm sure the novelty will wear off but I am having a ball just wandering around finding stuff. Found the home of the elves by following a quest but from wandering around from there found an abandoned castle which led me to underground caverns which led me to a
So cool! It reminds me of Skyrim but without the cool/wacky NPC encounters that you get in Skyrim - it (Skryim) felt like a more lived in world to me though DD2 is good in that regard it's not at the same level.

Yes there are clear limitations, the main one so far that there is a lack of variety of monsters. I get it but I would rather a smaller world and more monster types. I also wish there was like a horse or something - yeah I get why there isn't but walking from one side of the map to the other is a pain in the arse.

I'd also like to be able to have more skills active - esp spells as I'm playing a mage. The trade off between having all of the essential elements plus support/healing is ****e.

Yeah I could rely on a pawn for healing but I don't want to have to 100%.

                            Anyway minor gripes so far.

ok made it to the next area at level 40 and have levelled up to 45 quickly in the new area way more XP to be had and more exploration.

Some of the game design choices are questionable, though I understand why they are there.

I've maxed out Mage, Sorcerer and Archer and am now working on Thief. My pawn Jhary a Conel has maxed out Fighter, Warrior and Thief and is now on Archer.

                                I've unlocked

                                Trickster and magic spearhand

though am waiting to try them out.

Oh yeah tested the last spells for Sorcerer - the meteor and tornado ones ; holy smokes they are ridiculously awesome especially the meteor one. So cool on big monsters.

Walking is getting tedious, apart from that I'm having a ball in this game.
