Could we have some impressions/ pictures from people without a modded console?

that's why i'm hoping it'll get incorporated into the modchips like blaze's vga hack did.

as for it having issues with people's chipped machines, if it becomes popular you may just get support for the disc included in the next firmware update for your chip. i personally can't try it on my machine as the dvd drive doesn't work (i just use hdloader)

what i'm confused about is how people say action replay discs work fine on their chipped machines but this doesn't.

i really don't like the idea of it turning stuff into 4:3, though. that youtube video of it showed burnout running in 480i on one screen and upscaled (or just 480p - how on earth can you tell on a youtube video ) on the other, and the upscaled one was in 4:3 stretched.

like others here, i'm interested in the vga aspect, but as the ps2 will boot into 480i i bet the cable probably won't actually display anything until the program boots to prevent an interlaced signal being sent to your monitor and crapping it up

Has anyone tried this on an unmodded UK slimline PS2 with PES 6?

If so what are your impressions?

Just got my PS2 and well the pic is aweful through the crappy lead they give you.

I have a Samsung HDTV, what really is the best lead to buy to play PS2 games?

Del Boy, i ordered the official PS2 component cable from cduniverse.com last night. I emailed them twice and they replied in less than an hour each time, so confident they'll deliver. Cost me $34 delivered.

RGB Scart with "Game Mode" switched on (assuming it's a recent Samsung LCD) works passably, but component is better.

Got the NTSC version here (I'm selling it btw if anyone is interested), I booted up US .hack on my modded PAL machine fine, mod chip turned on.

Where does the rumour that it does not work on modded machines come from?

It's not a rumour. It doesn't work on my modded PAL machine. It hangs at precisely the point mentioned earlier, ie when you start a game.

What modchips does this actually work with?

Mine is a DMS4 Pro, works lovely for me.

Here's a thing - newer mods like the DMS4 have code to get around the anti-mod protection that the Codebreaker had - maybe it's to do with that?

That sounds like a strong possibility. I will see about updating the chip in my PS2. What was the anti-mod protection all about? Surely many sales for the HDTV adaptor would be from people looking to get the most from PS2 and would already have a chip installed?

I'd have imagined it's a setting of some sort that needs changing, or possibly a firmware update.

make it known in the relevant chip's forums if need be, and who knows?

Dunno if this has been pointed out, but this seems to support VGA resolutions over Component and vice versa.

So might be good to stick it in 1024x768 on a 1360x768 screen to get it 1:1. Would also be able change it on your TV for 16:9 games, though that's obviously no longer 1:1.

Interesting, can't wait to try VGA modes.

Shakey, I've tried 480p without problems, but 576p output has slightly bigger borders than the usual in pal 50hz, and 720p is totally squashed, only aceptable when using the LG Zoom screen mode. What about yours?

                                Thanks
