    F.E.A.R Xbox 360 Full Game

i managed to blag a free copy of this from the states and it turned up this morning. i've spent a couple of hours with it tonight and found it enjoyable

i didn't get too far with the pc version because, like most pc games, it is susceptible to crashes and not worth playing

this is basically the pc version but with an extra level and a new weapon, the dual wield machine pistols (that are really badly designed visually)

FEAR is a good game. sure it gets repetitive and you get sick of the colour grey by about an hour in, but it is still a good game.

it was a good game when it was released a year and a half ago for about ?30 but is in no way so good that it is worth paying ?50 when the pc version can be sourced for ?10 now.

the textures are low res, the characters need a load more polygons in them all the far off backgrounds look awful. it should also run at 60fps seeing as they have had a year and a half to port it. these things were fine when it was released but it isn't next gen at all.

how people have the gall to charge ?50 for this is beyond me and it really pisses me off when we have already had console defining games out this year that blow FEAR out of the water graphically

the gameplay is good but the achievements are fiendish to get. the single player ones promote having to do loads of playthroughs which is never going to happen and there is the ludicrous 'play 1000 multiplayer games' achievement.

its worth getting if you haven't completed the pc version but either get it from play asia or wait till it comes down in price

having said that, i'll see it through to the end and will dabble with the multiplayer if anyone here gets it and wants a game

    So no Extraction point then?
Looks like i'm better off saving my money. Thanks for those impressions Chopemon.

As you already mentioned Bleeders, I don`t see the point of paying ?50 for a sub standard version of a game that can easily be picked up on PC for a tenner, unless you don`t have a PC.

My PC isn`t very good (Radeon 9800 Pro) but FEAR still looks better than on the 360, where as CoD2 looks great on the 360 as opposed to my PC, so there aren`t any excuses really for it to be looking ****.

I never played the full version of FEAR on the PC but I was half looking forward to the 360 version coming to fill the void whilst I wait for GoW to arrive, I don`t think I`ll bother now, I`ll just be rinsing Dead Rising and Splinter Cell MP until emergence day me thinks.

I've got a new PC due to arrive on Thursday that should play F.E.A.R quite handsomely, but I refuse to pay ?40/?50 for a game that can be got for a tenner.

Bugger it, Call of Duty 3, Gears, Smackdown, Double Agent and Rainbow Six will suffice.

So I take it that it's as visually unimpressive as the demo then? Everyone seems to have skipped that in their reviews.

I always wanted to play FEAR on my PC but it would literally have melted my FX5900. I had never actually got to play the game until I played the 360 demo and although it admittedly looked dated the whole horror aspect and slo-mo gunplay really appealed to me. The game obviously uses the same engine as Condemned but that was one of my favourite games of 2005. I am keeping my FEAR pre-order but expect to see it for sale after completition in the 'buy, sell & exchange' part of the forum. How long does the game last btw?

I've been playing this for the past couple of days and I think it's sweet.
The graphics are great (haven't played the PC version so can't compare) and the sound is amazing through 5.1.

It does? It looks worse than Condemned, imo. The atmosphere and setup was really good in the demo, but it came off like a launch game that should have been.

                    To me it does...
I haven't noticed any slow down or screan tearing either. The beginning of the game is completely different to the to the demo btw.

The way I see it, is F.E.A.R. is worth it purely for the multiplayer.

                          BUT.

If this is as technically inferior as the first post suggests, to the PC version, then why not just download FEAR Combat from www.joinfear.com?

The entire multiplayer component of the game for free.

i agree with silvergun, FEAR combat is excellent and seeing as it is free, there is now no reason to buy the 360, especially with Gears, COD3 and Rainbow six out soon

Well, my PC is ****, and I want to play FEAR, so 360 version it is. Ive played about 5 hours so far and really like it. Visuals arent amazing, but it runs smooth.

Instant Action mode is pretty fun and multiplayer is solid as well.
