Mike F I can't get the co-op award for Dom either. Been through the whole thing on Insane apart from the last bit of Act 2. Maybe you need to do it all on the same difficulty to get the award?

don't think so, it says on any difficulty. I am pretty sure I have done every single chapter as Dom although I think on 3-3 I died right as the pilars started to move down.

sorry if this has been answered but is teh PAL LE version region free and will work on my US 360, or must i but the US version? Thanks!

I don't know if you've done this, but you have to do the training too to get the final Dom achievement.

as in the training route in the prison, or just the prison level cause I have done that but selected the combat path

Yep, the training route. That's what I selected anyway, and I got all the achievements.

Holy crap, this is amazing. I got this today along with a 360 (the weekend was going that way) and Dead Rising, which I also love. I'm stunned by Gears of War. Now, I've never been in a war and I hope I never will be but this is probably the first game that really made me feel like I'm right there in the thick of it. Not just as it's happening, but being around all that has happened before. Stopping to look at the city is just amazing and frightening all in one. It's real end of civilisation stuff.

As this thread is 66 pages long already, I have a lot of catching up to do but so far my experience has been excellent, excellent, excellent, those spawn holes are a bit cheap, excellent, excellent. So I'm looking forward to more excellent.

I finally got this yesterday from Play-Asia and wasn't really that impressed. The graphics are astounding, and I knew that I didn't really enjoy FPS's, but I bought into the hype and gave it a go, but have so far found it incredibly boring.

I wouldn't go as far as to say 'incredibly boring' but I agree that it hasn't exactly set my world on fire as it appears to have done for most other people. It's a bit of fun but it's not a "put all other games aside until I've finished it" game. In fact I'm honestly finding myself considering whether or not I should keep playing once I hit a checkpoint. Finished act 2 and haven't touched it since.

The car section was I just did was terrible, dunno if that was the start of 3 or the end of 2.

I'm not really sure what people are seeing in it other than graphics/setting, because it's pretty much just kill.switch with a graphics update and sci-fi patch, and no one creamed themselves over that game. Maybe it's like a Halo thing, co-op does wonders for otherwise mediocre games. Co-op is lots of fun in this game though, but then find me a game in which it isn't.

Unfortunately I'm on plain old standard def right now but on a good large widescreen tv. I've been holding off on getting a high def tv until everything standardises (I'm hearing older hig defs don't have certain connections and so on) but I may revise that soon.

So far the 360 seems great. Is there a good general 360 thread for posting my thoughts? My main thought so far has been this - kudos to MS for giving me everything I need in the box. Wires, headset, batteries, etc. Since the days of PS1, that has been quite a rarity.

Haven't made it on Live yet as I'm waiting for a wireless router to arrive (should be here this week). As I'm moving my computer upstairs and my 360 downstairs and a Wii on the way, a wireless router seemed the way to go. Looking forward to getting that up and running.

Still need to locate that thread about how to clear some of the space from my hard drive. Having only 11GB in a supposedly 20GB hard drive would have been a bit of a shock had I not remembered the thread.

If you've got a PC monitor available, you need to do yourself a favour and hook Gears up. It's the most high-def, high-definition game out there - the detail is incredible at 1080i (what I'm playing it on currently).

As for Live - it'll probably be overwhelming at first when you get on and you've never tried it before, but it's a good kind of overwhelming. There's tonnes of stuff.

I think you`re right, once you`ve stripped the HDD of the **** music it comes with, some themes and pics you should end up with 14GB.

Gears is my favourite game in the world ever and the mp is the ****ing dogs!

I'm at the point where the Dom achievement should unlock but I'm wondering if it will now!! Surely you don't have to do every split-up point as Dom do you?? That would be a pain in the arse.
