I'm still going strong on this.. 48th on the rankings now.. some of the Pro challenges are amazing and also incredibly difficult.

        Whaaaaaaat ? You're kidding me ?

I'll still be checking it out - loved the demo and online would be the icing on the cake.

Anyone know if it has replay options and the ability to save highscore runs?

I think there is a replay but I haven't found it yet...

Been playing this loads tonight. I really enjoyed the demo, even with this being the millionth instalment in the series, so this was a must-buy for me. So far, I'd say it's good, just not great.

As mentioned elsewhere, the framerate dips and chugs occassionally, for some reason. Even in the skatepark, which is all the more odd since the demo is in the skatepark and it runs pretty smooth. The framerate issues aren't that bad though and certainly aren't enough to ruin the game- it's just a bit of a baffling and frustrating niggle after playing the demo.

The gameworld is massive by the looks of it, and 3 hours in I've unlocked 5 areas I think. I can't wait until I've actually unlocked the whole thing because you can then put together lines throughout the entire world.

As for transitioning between areas, there's no loading, no tunnels, no cutscenes etc. to cover up the joins- it all blends together seamlessly, which is very cool.

The challenges so far seem fairly routine, but still enjoyable nonetheless (not actually done any "classic"/collectathon-type goals like in the previous games yet).

The world seems pretty well populated too. There are people just watching and walking around and loads of other skaters knocking about, which really helps the game come alive- especially when people comment on your skating.

The visuals are lush- nice textures, lots of detail in the environments and cool touches like the light glare when you come out of dark areas. The faces on the pros look very weird though. The animation on tricks looks great and all the moves looks pretty true-to-life (well, except some of the made-up specials obviously). Project 8 is supposed to have more "realistic" physics than previous games, but to be honest I haven't really noticed any major differences there- it feels pretty much the same to me. The new nail-a-trick mode is good, but after a while I found myself not really using it much and stringing together combos with the conventional moves. Maybe it'll grow on me, but for now it feels a bit od trying to tack it onto combos. The music selection is pretty diverse and well-thought out too.

All in all, I'm liking it so far. As others have said, after THUG and the last game (which I didn't even play), this feels more like a return to the classic earlier games, with a proper modern makeover.

edit- tried the online earlier too, but on all 3 attempts, it froze up- twice while searching for games, and once when I tried to exit. Don't know what's going on there.

Just picked this up - stuck on the tutorials lol. Really havent got a clue what its asking me to do. I'm pressing the button it says to but no joy. Its the Vert Airs Tutorial - The Revert. How's it different to the spine transfer?

Edit: Got it. Not exactly obvious!!!

I got it this morning and never owned/played any Tony Hawks game. It look nice but not easy to pick up so far. I am going through the tutorials at the moment.

I'm finding the last combo tutorial (10,000) points quite annoying - it doesnt display your score long enough for you to be able to work out which moves score big.

Anyone know what the update was for?

Just keep pulling off moves, if you keep it going you'll hit 10k in no time. Manual is your best friend. To be honest I've played every iteration of THPS and can score million point combo's fairly easy but I have very little idea of what scores what.

good to use manuals to link inbetween and you'll learn in no time that using the slow mo ( press L button in ) during a manual lets you balance nicely and pull off some awesome moves turning into massive 200k combos and stuff. Love this game.

Many times i'll just skate around then go into slow mo to look on in amazement at the animation doing kickflips and stuff.. very theraputic.

Am enjoying this game. God knows why I got it today when I have GOW to play though, but I'm glad I did. It does very theraputic like reektan says, when everything falls into place! Some top notch stuff on the 360 atm, enjoying it!

i picked it up earlier and am enjoying it after the american wasteland debacle

i've only done one goal, been scouring suburbia for the gaps

a majority of the gaps i've found by fluke.. im at 19th now and have got into the theme park which is insane. I think my favorite pro challenges so far ar burnquists and bam's .. great fun
