Can anyone help me with clearing the demos? I've done two just through repetition and luck, but I'm really struggling with the ones on the school roof and Mike Vallely's pro challenge at the capitol. I'm hitting big scores but the interest meters of the crowd are fairly random - sometimes they'll shoot right up to max after I score, but most of the time they barely move.

I've tried all possible tricks, different sections of the ramp, combos, not combos, specific tricks for specific crowds, specials, allsorts basically and can't figure out why I don't always get a good response and it's driving me crazy as I'm consistently pleasing 2 crowds and the third will just dip within the last 5 seconds - I've spent the last hour resisting the urge to fling my controller through the window! Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

What I do is focus on a couple of them and keep them topped right up then with about 10-15 seconds to go I'll move onto the last one and try and pull a massive combo (as you can keep that going even after the timer expires) and - if you land that - You'll at least get a pass if not a SICK score !!!

I hate those demos tbh - What's the Mike Valley challenge again ? same thing ? I've done it but it would be the same advice as above !

I'm having problems at the moment beating those two kids in the school yard at graffiti. The first 30 seconds I'll be whooping their asses and then they just claim all my areas leaving me in single figures.

Has anyone managed to max out all their stats yet? I'm close to finishing off grinding, manual and air, but the special one is giving me headaches. I need to do 8 tricks to get it up to the next level and I'm damn sure I'm doing way over 8 tricks but it just doesn't seem to register.

You gotta do HUGE combos on everything! Thats the way I did it. Be careful not to fall though.

Yeah also there's some tables that you should grab that they possibly won't bother with - 3 on the side of the building near the piano key roof and there's a couple on that roof and as HaHa says try and keep long combos going (i.e trick into grind on table on top of the dome shaped thing then manual down towards the school and catch the tables around there with a manual to see you between them - land that and you should keep those tables.

If you can get a really high combo going FIRST then manage to trick off a few of the tables you'll be laughing !!!

My cousins friend popped round mine yesterday as he tagged along and insisted that he wanted to play Tony Hawk's after looking at my collection as he recently got Project 8 on his PlayStation 2 for Christmas, so I did.

Not only did he show me his extremely brilliant abilities and skills whilst playing in Free Skate mode, he also got me the 5 million combo AND 10 million score achievements much to my awe.

After watching him play, I do not even consider myself a 'good' Tony Hawk's ( Project 8 ) player especially hopping from the superior PS2 pad to the rather clunky Xbox 360 pad: for the Tony Hawk's games at least.

                A nice moment indeed.

some of the sick goals live up the name

classic sick is some of the most frustrating rewarding gameplay in a long time

we should organise an online game or ten

anyone else playing the ps3 version of this? My copy arrived this morning, and its already crashed once (when I was making my skater).

And no online play for ps3 owners, not impressed with that. >_<

Well ive been playing the 360 version and its ok tho im **** at it, however the frame rate isnt great. All the reviews ive read have said the PS3 framerate is even worse, just wondering if you've noticed that yet cause i find the 360 slowdown a little annoying as it is.

It only happens going between areas as it's caching - the recent update (360) improved it considerably but it may be worth clearing your HDD cache to see if that helps.

                        Rank 9 now Nearly there.

                        Classic Sick goals can GTF

                          i LOVE the classic sick

just trying to figure out what order to take the challenges in is hard enough but to actually do them..

For once achievment unlocked means something!

I have the surburbia one on sick and nearly have the school one

i have all gaps in surburbia too

fun for 5 mins or 5 hours

The framerate has ruined this game. Either because it's been rushed, or the console is being pushed too hard (which I doubt - there's nothing here that really pushes the 360) but something is causing the framerate to drop to sub-15fps in some areas and it's a disgrace. You can't play a game like this with such massive slowdown. I'm ranked up to about 45 iirc but I'm sick of it. Having to retry because the framerate was bad that I couldn't see a marker or because I couldn't counterbalance in time has tipped me over the edge now - I never want to play this game again  The latest patch did improve things btw...but it's still ****.

I really, really, wanted to enjoy this since I've played it since the original Tony Hawks on the Playstation. This is one of the most disappointing gaming experiences of my life tbh. It's a game I REALLY wanted to play and enjoy (I've played the others pretty heavily for at least 10 months after they're released) but it's utter ****. Either skip the game next year to give it the time and attention it deserves, or don't bother releasing another game at all...I'm done with this series now tbh. The annoying thing is that the demo was great - pretty much a solid 60fps and it played really well. The new graphics engine looks nice, and the Nail The Trick mode is a lot of fun. Neversoft did enough to justify this sequel, IMO...shame about the framerate

Once you hit rank 8, you've only just started this game! I've been rank 3 for weeks now, need something like 95% goals at sick level to progress to the next level! Maybe one day hehe

It doesn't really bother me, pre or post patch, the game still plays well. The demo was a solid 60fps because it was just one area, no loading of other areas. If you play online you will also find it equally as smooth.
