I've unlocked Super Excite now so I'm getting the better trucks.

On the whole, this is one of the most rewarding games I've ever played. Going back to tracks and just kicking ass once the controls have fallen in place is just brilliant. As is going back to levels when you get better trucks.

Love the short races as well - won't get bored of this!

Although I'm a bit confused - your comments appear to contradict other reports which say this game is short-lived and light on content. Did they miss the point or something?

I love this game! Just when you seen the maddest jump you better it by flukily turbo-boosting off some rocky outcrop or something.

I finally unlocked the crystal track, which is gorgeous, after discovering the visceral thrill of combo-ing tree runs, my best is 25 stars in one run :-)

A quick tip for a truck smash is to turbo off the line and go straight at 5th place, usually works. Allthough my faves are when you land on top of someone else off a huge jump.

Indeed as its a infinite style game as you can just go for as many stars as you can get on each course like time attack style so it does in essence not have a longevity span.

It's a good game. Dunno if I'd go so far as to call it amazing or one of the most rewarding games I've ever played but, in short stints, it's damn good fun.

Bought it the other day, along with crackdown.

crackdown has been taking up most of my gaming time which is a shame, as the few hours i spent on this, i really enjoyed.

I need a further 4 S ranks to unlock Mirror Mode but am finding it pretty tough going, especially the last track in the Silver cup.

Has anyone achieved all S ranks in Mirror mode and are there more vehicles to discover besides those unlocked during Excite and Super Excite?

as someone else said, this is a great game to slap on and have a couple of races and then do something else. definitely more fun in short bursts.

I'm nearly there. I've got about a dozen to do in mirror and one to go on the challenges. JibberX has already done the lot. I have a feeling from his reaction that there's nowt more to unlock for 's' ranking the whole shooting match.

Do not overlook the gate challenges. China iirc is one of the toughest gaming challenges I've faced for a while. It's going to take me hours to clear it.

I have managed to clear Excite mode (S-ranked all races) after gathering the motivation to play the game to find that it unlocks Super Excite mode where I was expecting new tracks or routes within the old tracks but there is absolutely no difference whatsoever except with the number of stars required to pass the races.

I just can't be bothered to go through the same thing twice over and wish that Excitebike 64 would appear on the Virtual Console as soon as possible.

I know what you're saying but I'm having more fun playing Super Excite than I did playing Excite because of all the extra trucks that are now available - and playing the early tracks with the best trucks is a whole new experience. It's also worth playing just to unlock the Crystal track which is so lovely and psychedelic.

Played as intended (in short bursts as mentioned - anybody tried 2 player though ? That should be a riot) it is a superb game - it's not something to be rinsed over a couple of nights - What is it with people on here having to whore the ****e out of a game within hours/days rather than taking their time ? Is it simply a case of having more time to game ?
