Completed hard with B's and 1 fluked S-Rank. The final course was an eyebrow raising moment too. Still need to unlock a few more trucks and unlock the mirror courses though!

I find myself coming back to this game most of all the launch titles I got. Just finished the Bronze and Silver cup with S-Rank so am a LONG way behind taurus!! A mate came over last night to check out all the Wii stuff and he liked Excite Truck the best because I think he could pick it up so easily! A great game to show off the wiimote in action!

Totally Base, I've ditched Zelda for 2 day's because of this though (holding off playing more until I have a decent cable )

Got this today and it is very good. Takes a couple of attempts to get used to the control but after that, it feels natural. Graphics are excellent and everything runs smoothly. Music is pretty bad, so much so that i'm going to nip out tomorrow and pick myself up an SD card so that I can customize the soundtrack.

Load times for me are pretty much non existant.

Reminds me of WaveRace which is no bad thing and it's a welcome relief from the strains of Zelda

Looks great on my Panasonic 42PX60 via Component!, although, slightly annoyingly, there's slight vertical borders running down either side of the picture. Zelda and Wii Sports are ok though.

Wow the Crystal track on the Diamond cup is one of the best looking things ever. Absolutely stunning!

I've still got around 10 S ranks to get to unlock mirror mode but it's well hard. I either have a really fast race, come first but get bugger all stars or i get a bunch of stars and come last. I've just unlocked the final car now so that will hopefully help.

Easily one of my faves of the year and has kept me from starting Zelda properly.

Mad Gear, I unlocked that track too. Wasn't an easy one either. Reminds me of a Diddy Kong Racing track.

Don't tend to use the Monster Truck, look's intimidating though.

I've still got lots of love for this game, the harder difficulties levels are great in the way they add new features to the levels you have already played (example a big bloody tanker in the Iceland level to get in your way!!)

I thought I might see how this works and got hold of a wheel for the wiimote the other day, will let you know if it works at all!!

Not slating your purchase or anything AYB but i dont get how those wheels work. To steer in excite truck et al you have to tilt the controller and the motion is absolutely nothing like steering right?

edit: looking at the wheel in your link it seems the wiimote is mounted all wrong inside the wheel, it'd work if it was flat in the wheel if you see what i mean.

Anyway i played this game over the weekend and thought it was great fun, a nice surprise.

Didn't really pay attention to Excite Truck before, and there hadn't appeared to be that much buzz about it but after seeing a few ads recently on TV it's caught my eye and now reading the comments on here and elsewhere it sounds like it could be my kind of thing and I really like the idea of the controller as a virtual steering wheel (especially after sampling a very basic implementation of it in Wario!).

It's out here on Thursday and I'm very tempted to go and pick it up. What are you guys' thoughts on it now (nearly 2 months on from the US release).. are you still playing it?

This Thursday in Japan.. UK release is next month I believe.

Actually, I was watching some videos of Excite Truck earlier and although previously I thought the racing style with loads of jumping/adjusting position in the air didn't appear too my liking and seemed a bit OOT (why I hadn't taken as much notice originally) now you mention F-Zero GX I think it looks reasonably similar kind of gameplay where you need to adjust for turns in mid-air/battle against the other machines/etc! I loved F-Zero GX too, so if it is anything like it there's no doubt I'll get it! In fact, my copy of F-Zero GX is still in the UK - I asked my brother to send it over with some GC stuff last month but he still hasn't got around to it so Excite Truck could fill the gap until he sorts it out..

I haven't played it for a while but i think it's definately one to buy.
Don't expect to love it straight away though as it does take a while to get used to it. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be hooked within a few hours play.

It's just a shame it gets really hard, as i'm still around 6 golds away from unlocking the mirror mode.
