Sounds like its right up my street, looking at some of the review scores i thought i may avoid it, but as i have found out with so many wii games people seam to have different criteria as to what makes a wii game than what makes a 360 or ps3/2 game.

Anybody know the pal release date?

      Just completed this.

You get ranked at the end of the main game:

      Power restored: 89.9%
      Nests found: 32.9%
      Elebits captured: 13353
      Clear time: 3.24

      Title: King of Curiosity.

A nice surprise end boss too! Great game and a package as a whole.

Got loads to do still, just unlocked 2 rare items which increase certain abilities during the main game, stuff like walking faster while reaching and shooting further. Handy stuff.

Also need to find those pesky rare white Elebits! Great fun finding them!

Oh, and completing the Challanges. They are HARD. Very tricky to do some of em, only done 5, but you get rewarded for completing sets. Reminds me of Blasts Corps, think it's the inventivenes of the challages.

        Hi,
I take it you all have this game with a US Wii?

Whats the latest on the release in the UK?

I was excited when I first read about this game, having not played neither Pikmin I think I should pick it up for my Wii!

Well me and importaku (not sure of any others) are playing the Japanese version.
When was the US version released btw? I was sure this would get a lot of publicity/coverage but it seems no one is talking about it at all.

Not too sure about a PAL release. Probably before summer.

Well I haven't retried that level much (too much other stuff to play!) but next time I do I'll be sure to keep an eye out

US version came out just after launch. It's a shame the game seems to be overlooked by a lot of people, because it's probably my favourite non-Zelda game on the system.

I have the US version but didn't get on with it at all. Once I had done the tutorials and got into the main game I guess I expected it to have more to it and maybe it does later on but it just didn't grab me enough to go on.

It's like looking for socks. In game form. I don't like looking for socks - it's not the high point of my day and not something I'd do for recreation.

That said, I could well be missing out if it develops as the game goes on.

                  Hehe socks,

I think the appeal for me is how you have to manipulate the enviroment to get maximum elebits. Some of the nests are very well concealed & only appear if you do specific things.

It's only like looking for socks in the same way that Katamari Damacy is like tidying up

I think I'd probably enjoy looking for socks in real life too if I could do it with a gravity gun.

Why is this game not getting any love? It's by far the best implementation of the Wii remote and nunchuck I've experienced so far. The way you can easily manipulate the environment and objects in any dimension and axis is something that's never been acheived before. The game is absolutely brilliant!

LOOK AT THIS linky for proof.

Check out that setup it's donino rally all over again, but much much better. If you don't love that then you're dead inside.

There's loads more where that came from on Youtube too.

heh! That is quite amazing. Watching that tickled me

This was always a title that sparked interest in me... I feel like i can't really contribute too much in this thread as i've yet to play it, but from what i've seen it looks wonderfully appealing with a similar charm to pikmin... which i absolutely love. I also know I’ll end up cracking and getting it, which at the moment I can’t really afford

I do like the artwork i've seen, during the cut scenes I mean. It seems a little bit of a shame the same level of artistry isn’t shared ingame, but i still feel it looks nice, if maybe a little bland - like a humanistic reality within a cartoon world... like toystory.

The attention to detail also seems quite spectacular, with all the little bits and pieces lying around…

Ah… now I really want this. This is why I stay away from the thread!

                          Adam,

you will not be dissapointed. My first contact with Elebits was at a recent small meet. There were five of us gathered together when this game went on and none of us had played it before. We simply couldn't put it down, played for five hours straight, up to about mission fifteen I think.

One thing I will say on the negative side is the game is very easy, but that would sort of be missing the point. I mean Katamary Damashii is very easy, but still brilliant fun and this game has that same feel to it whilst being completely different.

The first time you point the remote at a door knob, press the A button to grab it with your gravity gun and twist your wrist to twist the knob and then pull your arm towards you to open the door you will realise just how immersive the game is. Moving, twisting, pulling throwing, everything has it's own inertia and momentum and can with enough skill be manipulated in any direction.

We didn't even get a chance to play with the editor, but it looks to be a very comprehensive level editor that potentially provides the possibility for infinite variation and experimentation.

As for the cut scenes, they are beautiful, but the voice acting (US version) was really terrible. Oh and be prepared for a long tutorial: in excess of 30 minutes.

Yeah, but it's quite fun. It's composed by small lessons where the game tells you oen or two buttons at a time and gives enough time to experiment and get the hang of it. One of the best tutorials ever.

I've played only the first mission (and the tutorial), but from what I've seen it's probably the game I'll spend most time with until Wario Ware comes out. It's simple yet very engaging.

Yeah the tutorial is a series of mini-missions that breaks the game down into its components. It's a really good trainer and makes the manual redundant There are more tutorials later on as the game adds more and more elements to the mix.

It's captivating to play and watch it being played. The amount of mayhem on the later levels is crazy mad.

Wait till you get to the levels where there's no gravity XD
