Just watched the video for this one.
This is probably a really stupid question as I've not played any of these games but...how exactly does the "game" work? The video showed them filming the train journey, is that what is shown as you play it or does it use real time graphics?
I've found this also and it looks like video again: Railfan PS3 TGS 2006
I probably sound really stupid asking the question but I've hoestly not played any before so it's a bit alien to me.
Cheers...

I bought this on holiday and have only been through the first handful of (Tokyo) missions. The first few are simple enough (get up to full speed; stop; slow down, etc).
Evolution-One: the only graphics as such is the train HUD. Everything else is real footage. It's kind of weird but fascinating too.

That's what I thought...Thanks!!
I have to admit that I'm a little confused by the whole idea of this game lol. I'm sure most of you will understand that. I'm also interested for some reason!! I wish there was a demo to try as I'm really running blind with this one.
If I did get it, where would be the best place for my PAL PS3? Which version is best as reading through here there seems to be varying amounts of English in different versions?
Maybe I'd be better picking it up used from someone as I really have no other games to compare it to in my gaming history and don't fancy being stung for the full amount blindly.
Does it play OK with the SixAxis controller?

I know the Asian version comes with an English instruction leaflet. Play great with the controller. I'd post in the wanted section (like I did myself) and see if you can get it on the cheap
You're basically starting the train, adhering to speed limits and then stopping at stations within a time limit. Sounds simple, but it is a little addictive, with the added bonus of getting see some of TokyoLast edited by hudson; 28-05-2007, 15:37.

Maybe I'll give it a go, it's pay day on Thursday!
Isn't there anybody who hasn't enjoyed this game? How many courses/rides/tracks/missions are there in it?
Is there a UK based one where you also have to avoid the avoid bricks been thrown at you by 13 year old kids drinking "budget" cider?Last edited by JP; 16-06-2007, 19:20.

So the language barrier isn't too bad? My son is 2 but he absolutley LOVES trains and I thought it might be a nice way of us having fun together when the weather is crap and he's bored of his normal toys!
It's basically a train simulator right, real video with a CGI interior and it works fine with the sixaxis?
What's the difficultly like, is it simple button presses etc?

Controls are really simple. You have an accelerator and brake... and that's about it! oh and a horn! Accelerator and brake each have several levels of power i.e. Brake all the way for an emergency style stop (not recommended as you'll pee off the passengers).
The levels of accelerator and brake give you enough depth to aim to get that train to its destinations on time.
It's tricky and requires much trial and error. Many find fun in it. I'm one of them. The game does have a tutorial, but all with Japanese text. But I think there are helpful images on scren to help.... I think, cant remember.
Checkout this site for more info, mate >>> Densha-De-Go.com has a helpful forum too.
ALSO! If you can't get hold of an asian copy for the English instruction leaflet, then don't fear as that very same site has them scanned >>> hereLast edited by hudson; 29-05-2007, 18:53.

NO, it's just like end of the stage. You'll be scored on how close you pulled into the station at in metersYou start off with points. Points are added if you do good and deducted if you poopy. Lose all points and you have to get off the train and explain to all the passengers why you is poopy over the tannoy.
I don't really like recommending these games to people who aint tried before. I love them, but I've known many who have gone.."whhhhhhhhhhy!"....
"whyyyyyyyyyyy"
Now I'm no train spotter, but I do like Japan stuff and all that, so it was my main attraction. Seeing Tokyo without goingBut I found an addictive game in it. Been playing since Densha on PSone

Because I've played nothing which compares with these I really don't have any point of reference for how they play which is why my questions may seem really stupid.
Another stupid one now:
Does the video speed up/slow down when you do...stop laughing at the back there, I'm being serious!
