I still haven't recieved my copy from Goblin, I'm getting impatient now.I'm trying to avoid reading what people are saying about it, It's hard though.
No, you wont get it until Tuesday at the earlist.

14 pages and the game has only just been released, that beats Viewtiful Joe, but lags a little way behind Initial D

I wouldn't say i was that big a fan of Star Wars either but i do like Bioware Rpg's, And that's the reason i'm buying it.If you're into Rpg's then you might like it.

"Items Shipped on Friday, July 18 2003
? 1 of: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic"

Yay - mine has also shipped from DVDBO - just got to wait a couple of weeks now till it arrives, should just about give me time to review PotC.

I'm buying a modded xbox for this game alone, should i buy a copy from the states in a couple of weeks or wait for the pal release ??
Is the US version different in any way from what we will get over here ??
(sorry if this has been covered already but i'm not reading all 14 pages to find out)

Both versions are likely to be exactly the same. I don't see why they would change it, unless some game-destroying bug was discovered in the US version(which is highly unlikely).

I thought you mentioned in a couple of other threads a little while back that we shouldn't discriminate or dismiss people based on taste?

Holy hell.... just watched another trailer, the one with one of Yoda's species in it (trailer 2, see it here: http://www.lucasarts.com/products/sw...G_gallery.html). This looks bloody superb. Haven't played a really good Star Wars game since X-Wing Alliance, so now I'm really looking forward to it.

I've been playing for about 4 and a half hours now and I have to say from what I've seen so far BioWare have delivered again. My first impressions are that its absolutely sublime.

For those concerned about reading further for fear of spoilers - don't worry I'm just going to talk about gameplay, graphics and audio. No plot at all.

My biggest concern with the XBox version was how BioWare would handle the UI - given all there previous 'in-depth' (I'm exluding Dark Alliance from this, as its quite different from there other games) have been heavily mouse and keyboard shortcut orientated. I needent have worried - its there finest UI to date. They've used the XBox pad superbly well.

Camera wise, often a niggle in games viewed from the third person - there are absolutely zero problems.

Graphics are good - I've had some very slight framerate stutters in large outdoor city environments - but nothing that gets in the way of the game at all.

Audio is excellent. Other than the odd one or two characters voice acting is a good cut above anything else I've played. And the ambient music is very Star Warsy.

Between the graphics and audio they've captured the feel of the Star Wars films really well (more so 4, 5, and 6 than the dodgy new ones).

The dark and light 'choices' are woven into the game very well and you can see how light/dark your character is on your character sheet. Other characters react to your choices in meaningful ways too (even moaning when you rob things from there homes!).

Battles are really well 'choreographed' for want of a better word and really do need a mixture of melee and ranged weapons.

They've also implemented a neat way to prevent too much tedious backtracking to your 'base' and back.

I've levelled up my main character several times already and the d20 rule system seems to have been adapted really well to the Star Wars universe.

Only two bad things to say so far both save game related: saving a game, there's occasionally an uncomfortable 'shift' between the UI screens that makes you wonder what the hell the game is doing. And I had a crash. After saving my game the progress bar was on full but the game hung. I left it about 2 minutes and no change. So I rebooted. My game had saved (phew) so I could just carry on from where I was. Hopefully this is a one off unlucky incident - from what I've seen from the rest of the game its so well polished

Thats me done for now. I'm getting back to it .
