w00t!! I did it!! After 48 hours and 36 minutes, I have beaten it. I served the Light Side, redeemed Bastila, defeated Malek, and saved the day! Dear god, I'm exhausted... The Star Forge was a complete bitch, and I won it by ths skin of my ass.

Anyway, I'm going to take a break for a day or so, and then play again, only this time as a Dark Sider, maybe a female too, just to see how that plays out. But I need some time to soak in the masterpiece I just witnessed. BioWare, you have made one of the greatest games I've ever played, and I will forever be a fan and loyal follower (as though the Baldur's Gate games weren't enough). Thank you for making such a fantastic game.

I've only got one planet left to do now - Manaan - but I've just been captured by the Sith ship with that Saul on it.
        Still loving this game.

Fair do's, though. . . I really was kicking Malak's ass, the bloody coward!

As I'm playing through again, i'm going all the way to the Dark side now, and I can see why it's so tempting :O

The game's definately easier at points where you can force people to do stuff or whatever, and it's a lot more fun

Also, being a Scoundrel really helps there I found. You know that last room before Malak with all those weird robot things? Well, instead of having to slice all the computers, my security bonus let me unlock the door to get to Malak

Also, whenever I've been to areas and caves 'strong in the dark side', it's made no difference to my options or my powers. I doubt your dark or light affiliation makes any seciton of the game easier - I think this is down to the second thing you say: character class. I only have one scoundrel type (Mission) in my party, and she's physically very weak, so I can only really use her in specific sections and not for general use.

When/If I play through again, I'll know the importance of building-up the defensive strength of a Scoundrel class.
Do people tend to switch their party around much? I tend to choose, where possible, Bastilla and Carth. Carth is my best all-rounder, I'm a scrapper and Bastilla has a great range of defensive force powers and really knows how to use a saber (oo er).

Yes, I've read this is correct. But, I also read that...

By the time I beat him, I'd used every Life Support pack, most of my Advanced Medpacks, and a ****load of Hyper stims. I'd shot up more than a super heroin junky!

I didn't realise that, in that case I guess it really depends on what powers you choose to develop.

I guess now I could read the FAQs and find out about the stuff I've missed. I'm pretty sure I covered a good 80% of it. Though I didn't do much of the racing or areana fighting and I know I missed out on quite a lot of the bounty stuff.

Now that I've finished reviewing PotC, I can restart KotOR and do the stuff I didn't first time around

                        Regards

I've had a few days off as I've been away. And I'm now at the very end. Damn if I'm not pissed off that I auto-levelled up and now don't have a load of the powers I actually want/need now. It's gonna be a lot tougher finishing off this game thanks to my initial laziness in setting up my character along the way.

I didn't auto-level or anything, but I did get some Force powers that in retrospect were not entirely necessary, so you know this next time around the **** is ON. Can't wait to power-gamer my way through it and turn everyone into my bitch.

Bah, if only I knew, would've made it easier than it was :P I just used Force Lightning on them got rid of them without using much Force power. And as for Malak, if the battle started to go his way, i'd run off for a bit, until it went out of battle mode, get super pumped on those Stim type things and restore health in the inventory screen without having to wait my 'turn'

As for teams, i usually use Bastilla and Juhani
