The first time my character turned on his lightsaber, and I heard that snap-hiss, I almost got wood.

HK-47 needs a Bender accent, imho

Stunning game so far, really enjoying it - I find the freedom and lack of "hand-holding" amazing, relying on the player to explore the depth of the characters in their party. The world is cohesive throughout, demonstrating a solid universe for players to involve themselves with - emphasised by the Star Wars universe. I'm up to about 30 hours of play, taking my time, in awe of the Star Wars galaxy

There is always something there, something one doesn't expect to find when investigating even the simplest of things - I'm looking forward to playing again, just to see how diverse the story can be a second time; there is loads in 'ere, extending play beyond the "normal" RPG boundaries. The diversion from "traditional" D&D/medieval setting is refreshing, prompting interest in other fantasy-RPGs based on a similar mechanism (Bioware's new one looks nice, Fable too); its all good

JRM - if I may ask - did you investigate the disappearance of the young Selkath? I'm having difficulty getting information from the Iradonian mercenary, failing persuasion choices (including force). Just a case of low-skills? What do you think?

They wont want to leave, but you can convince them to. One way is to find a dying Selkath youth in another room right close by. Take an item from them and show it to the others. This will cause them to realize their mistake, and they'll leave the base. This will also give you an out when you're... well, you know what I mean when it happens. Just remember, saving them will save yourself.

I cant wait to see how the Star Forge level pans out.

I am quite enjoying playing it again with different characters, and the impromptu conversations they have amongst themselves...

Cool, cheers JRM - there were a bunch of doors I couldn't get into when I went thru the Sith base the first time but I could see inside the training rooms using the cameras (including the Selkath - didn't occur to me then, hadn't spoke to the other Selkath yet). I'm there again now (erm, after "that thing" happens - awesome twist) so I shall investigate further (currently looking into something else that takes me back there).

                Ta much!

Commander, out of curiosity, you do you know you can open pretty much every locked door in the game with your lightsaber, right? Just walk up to it, and when the icon appears to open, just press up to cycle to the "Bash" icon. This will cause your character to repeated hammer at the door with your lightsaber until it opens. Sometimes it only takes one hit, and sometimes several. It also works for crates and chests.

If you did know, then sorry for wasting yoru time. If you didn't know, then I hope it helps. Remember, a lightsaber isn't just a weapon, it's also a universal lockpick.

Not this one, just kept coming up impossible - I didn't have the option to "bash" the door in. I could with others in the complex, so I figured I couldn't do it yet and would return later. This is where I am now, I think I just did thinks in a funny order

Okay then, glad you knew. Weird though. Anyway, cool deal. Keep up the hard work!

I have started straight away again on the light and it is surprisingly as enjoyable as I expected it to be more boring although I am annoyed as I didn't realise not to level up before becoming a jedi.

I've been playing more or less non-stop in the evenings all week (played till 4am last night) and am now at the Star Forge. Up till now, I've found every battle pretty much a breeze but the overwhelming number of troops and apprentices on Lv 2 has me thinking about switching the combat level to 'Easy' - I can't take out the droid guns fast enough before the seemingly infinite amount of reinforcements show up...damn.

But no, she wouldn't leave, believing that I couldn't bring myself to kill her. And she was right - so I had Zalbaar do it for me. A truly crushingly despairing gaming moment - why didn't you run, you stupid girl? I even told you to go!
                          *sigh*

Durham Red, yeah, the battles on the Star Forge can be a real bitch to deal with, as you get flooded with Dark Jedi and Sith Troopers. My advice would be to advance slowly down corridors so that you don't trigger too many attacks at once, make sure all of your people are together and don't get too seperated, and always keep Heal / Life Drain flying when you need it. I also found it best to have at least one member of my party be a droid, as they are unaffected by any and all mind-affecting Force powers and weapon affects. So, if your two humans (or whatever they are) get dazed, the droid can keep firing away. HK-47 was built for that fight.

Damn - I took Canderous with me instead, more because he looks so cool in the full Mandalorian superbattle suit and would benefit from Bastila's healing powers where HK-47 wouldn't. I may yet restart though...

                              Cheers!
