I tried that aswell mate, but basically you aint powerful enough at that stage to take on the kind of force that is in the canyon at that point in the game. If I went back to it now I could obliterate everything but at that stage of the game you just dont have the firepower to take everything out and get through with a decent time, score, etc. I made it to the facility once when trying to take everything out but my mech was so weak by the time I got there the NORMALs just finished me off with ease. The mission is only the NORMALs, remember that when you get a mission, sometimes you need only take out a specifc target.

I just done a mission last night where you have to take out the flagship of a naval fleet and if I tried to take out all the ships inthe formation before I got to the flagship my ammo would have been depleted before I got halfway and that would have been me loading up every bullet, rocket, greade, missile and laser I could carry

Stick to the mission parameters and only take out what you need to, unless of course you are feeling particualry powerful and nasty

Thats a good question, I aint tried it either but will have a rattle about tonight. I have allthe schematics for the NEXT mechs but I cant use all of them cause I aint unlocked a specific part or dont have enough FS Memory (This is what you need to upgrade your mech abilities once parts are fitted).

There is a Schematic called Barbaroi that I am ACHING to play around with but I aint been able to use the Schematic yet due to lack of FS memory... cant wait till I do cause he is already ninja fast but will be even better when I get a toy around with him

How is the Japenese text on the game mate? Will I be able to play it without any Jap reading skills?
I didn't find it too much of a problem. There is a fair amount of English here and there, and a lot of the tutorials etc have a large pad with highlighted buttons on the screen so you can't go wrong. I think for the really detailed customisation and the like you'd need to resort to a FAQ or guys here, but as a taster it is ideal. I picked up the PAL 360 copy at lunchtime, along with Sylpheed, so looking forward to an evening of mechs and spaceships.

I will happily answer any questions you have on the customisation as it is only fair that other guys profits from my hours of blood, sweat and tears spent in the garage getting my mech performing to its true potential. To really get in about the schematics you need to know what each weapon provides but the stats do a good job of showing you the differences changing weapons and parts will make.

I will try get on for some live action tonight.

tell me about it man... am running out of places to paint my fallen enemies decals on

2 missions away from moving onto to Chapter 5. You should have the simulations unlocked in the garage section now mate, get in there and try out the NEXT battles.

And I checked the online stuff earlier, you can send schematics to someone on your fiend list brilliant.

I'm getting really annoyed by the auto changing weapons, there's been far too many times i've gone to fire rockets only for the sword to swing+dash+pause+get shot >.<

You can turn it off in the options... I knew after playing the demo the auto switching wasn't going to work for me so quickly got in there and got it changed!!

awesome, i always have to hit the swap weapon button anyway so that's going to make things easier.

Finished the campaign last night and have to say very unimpressed by the ending. The game didnt do a very good job of explaining the story so it was hard to work out what was actually going on but I thought the ending would bring it together... wrong. Instead, you get a couple lines of text that supposedly explain it a little voice message and curtain down, wasn't amused at all.

The game itself was great though. I got so into the customisation building myself a monster mech and really enjoyed the NEXT battles. One of the missions toward the end with several NEXTs battling it out was really good with comm chatter going back and forth but there just wasn't enough of this kind of mission. More of this type would have helped explain the story and get you 'into' the character but they were few and far between.

The missions toward the end turned out to be quite easy as a result of the mech I had built so the final mission fell on the first attempt with little effort really. Suppose when you fit your mech to carry enough firepower to flatten a city that is always gonna be the case

Can see me still getting a bit of life out of this as there is schematics I aint been able to get yet and I REALLY want them. For some reason a full play through of the game and all the NEXT simulation battles isn't enough to get you all the parts and VS memory you need for the really cool schematics I want Barbaroi and Supplice to play with but dont have all I need and have no idea what missions I need to do on hard to get them

These minor gripes aside the game is brilliant and between the combat and customisation sucked me in for a full 14 hours play time, which is good going for a single player mode these days. If only the live community was a bit busier on this it could really keep me going for months but sadly it aint an FPS and you cant drive a car

Does it not have multiple endings like some of the other AC games? There are multiple paths through previous games.

I'm a little annoyed it just seems like all the other AC games but with a few tweaks to the controls rather than any nice new features. I'd love a co-op mode, for example. It's still very much, do this mission, do that mission too rather than being hung together nicely although I've often wondered if that's due to poor translation rather than a problem with the game; but on saying that, it's ALL of the AC games not just 4. The menu and game interface is still poorly designed, stuck way back in the series origins. The random difficulty curve still exists too but on the whole the game is fairly easy, even if it's a thinly disguised tutorial for multiplayer.

But after all that it's still a reasonably good game, slick and as there's sweet FA like it around at the moment. Konami should get another ZOE game out already.

I thought the game did have a coop mode for up to 10 players over live? Is this not the SP missions?

Only battles according to the manual unless there's some additional stuff online. I don't have Live to check (no 360 at the minute either!) 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 4 vs 4 or 4/8 player battle royal. System link mirrors the Live modes, split-screen has one-on-one.

                              Split-screen co-op would be ace.
