    Hokuto No Ken - PS2

Woo hoo my first ever first play

Well it arrived this morning at my parents & it did ship with a Bonus DVD.

Have only had a chance to watch some of the DVD as the PS2 is at my flat

Anyway the DVD has tons of stuff on it a nice Starters Guide which goes through the moves,
A visual guide to ALL of the HnK games from the Sega MkIII right up to the DS & PSP Pachislot stuff.
Interviews with 2 of the voice artists
Trailers for the new HnK Anime Movie
    Music Videos

Only thing missing really was some actual matches which would have made the DVD complete & showed us how it can be done

Will give you all gaming views this afternoon when I get back after the Family thing.

Just wanted an excuse to get one started lol

Well been giving it a bit of a bash this evening & it is bloody good.

Graphics look lush, Backgrounds are lovely with very clear sprites that are completley faithful to the Anime & Arcade originals.
Loading times are fairly non existent...match initially takes about 6 seconds to load & then no more loading at all between rounds.
Sound is really good...except for Raoh's cloak the flapping noise is VERY VERY annoying.
Animation seems fine...I cant compare it to the Arcade as I've never been able to play it but doesnt look like anything is missing.
As with all Arc fighters it's going to take some serious time & effort to get the moves & techniques sorted but it's nice & easy enough to pick up & play & then the more time you spend with it the more rewarding it becomes.

Has the usual game modes...Arcade, Vs, Training, Survival & also History which allows you to go back & relive some of the fights from the Anime like Kenshiro Vs Heart, Shin Vs Jagi etc. & also has some unlockable bits in there too...no idea what they are as all the inter-joining text is in Japanese & I cant read a bit of it
There are apparently 77 different sections to unlock in the history part so should keep most peeps busy for a while & is quite a nice addition I think.

All in all I think it's another great Arc fighter & deffinitley one to add to any 2D fighter fans collection.

The Fatal Ko's are comboable after removing your opponents 7stars (or something along those lines) they appear under their health bar (or something along those lines) Im sure there will be some combo guides up in english kicking about on the internet somewhere

Best 2D fighter i have played in ages! Its definately a solid fighter in its own rights, but if your a FOTNS fan......man it just blows your mind!

I never bought it for my Atomiswave and to be honest i never will now the PS2 port looks and feels great to me ( playing with Neo 2 stick ) and as said above theres no loading times whatsoever which sadly was'nt the case with NGBC.

            Everything i expected and more!

Really looking forwards to when this turns up! Anyone know if every copy of the game comes with this bonus DVD?

*also crossing fingers for prog scan*

i did hear the arcade version was a bit unbalanced

i hope this version is tweaked a bit.....unfortunetly only people who have played the arcade version can tell

I should think so, it's deffinitley a nice added bonus & makes me wish I could understand Japanese.

Had another bash this morning & I'm seriously loving this...Some of the stages are simply gorgeous.
Been trying my hardest to get some Fatal KO's done but my skills really really suck

Loving this so far, but then i'm a Guilty Gear fan
I don't think every copy comes with the DVD, think it's a limited thing...

Give it a few weeks, you'll start to see through it. I don't want to ruin it for anybody, but it needs more charas for starters...
                            Kept you waiting, huh?

Yeah the Starters guide takes you through some of the basic combos & also shows you Kenshiro's 100hit Fatal K.O.
I just really wish I could understand it.
