I think the weapons will be re-balanced before launch.

The quitting thing is appalling though - they really need to find a solution to that - it absolutely ruined Halo2 and it's doing it again - And this is only a beta for Christs sake it's like to these tits it's a part of the game !

I'm not sure how you could balance the snipe really. Its still the same power as it was in the last two games, and they've made it slower this time. Laser can be weaked and harder to aim with. Maybe have 4 shots as well.

They've stopped be quitting tbh, the whole RP thing stopped me as I dont want to lose 2 points and have to play two more games to get them points back. I guess it helps that i got a few years expierence under my belt so that I'm capable of owning noobs and having a good k/d ratio.

I don't think that in the majority of games it is people quitting, but instead the game Blue-screening and kicking people out, I've played in several games where it has happened to my party members.

Is anyone on tonight? The past 2 nights have been a bit sparce on the halo 3 front. People sick of it now?

I haven't had the game lock-up in terms of completely crashing, but I have had it revert back to the player join screen and not do anything at all today in the middle of a game (I was able to escape to the dashboard and restart).

I'm missing something really obvious again. How do you create custom games with only one player as mentioned before? I only seem to be able to adjust party size, which doesn't stop me from encountering other players.

They should deduct 20 points for a quit, or nullify your rank completely. Quiting is an absolutely unexcusable display of bad sportsmanship infront of both team and opposition, and always has been.

No wonder there are only 3/4 of us playing this each night now. The only matches I seem to have now are vs. quitting idiots or vs. super-human bots where you have no chance. If this carries on throughout the beta I'm not paying ?40 to carry it on in a couple of months.

You can make the party invite only or closed.

Sometimes the game goes to the scoreboard screen and it says "uploading" in the corner of the screen which if Halo 2 is anything to go by it is switching the host to another player (that is what I meant by bluescreening , it was blue in H2) this seems to happen rather alot where some people will be playing and some people will still be sat on that screen able to talk to the other party members, they will either join in after a few minutes or be kicked back the the main menu.

Currently there isn't any way to set up a custom game, you can either play the rumble pit games which is a free for all death match or play in a team game.

Everyone will be there, once we get our friends lists sorted out with Halo regulars and everyone isn't bored of the same 3 maps then loadsa people will be around.
Speaking of which who fancies a game now?

Yeah, I tried that but it still shunts me in with other players.

Was hoping to learn the ins and outs of the maps on my own before jumping in more (though I have been playing a bit more today and yesterday).

I see what you mean now. I'm not sure you can do that in the Beta, but I might be wrong. You'll certainly be able to do that n the full game.

You could just play Rumble Pit (6 people, all against all) and just explore. You'll come last, but who cares. No one will mind, as you won't be "letting down" anyone but yourself.

20 points would seem harsh, what if you lag out or you're the only person on your team? Then again, so far it hasn't taken too many points of me when I lag out, I guess they're still building it into the system on how to tell the difference between quiting and lagging out.

I think one problem with the quitters is that the Live code is still very much work in progress, every few games I'll encounter where one or a few of my team mates is still in the upload screen and eventually lag out. Anyone who has played Halo 2 knows that quitters have a domino effect, so this lagging out problem needs to be sorted desperatly.

And yes, I've noticed a increase of quitters, shamefully this is what happens when the larger scale of so called Halo 'expertz' start to play. I tell ye, during that first week before all you crackdown people came, hardly anyone would quit and everyone would be be friendly at the end of the match.

Still, as I said, alot of the twats/expertz from Halo 2 have returned and they'll stay, but to decide if you're going to not buy H3 and sell your X360 is aliddle bit extreme. Rememeber that when H3 is released, alot of people will buy it which will probably even out the skill (where at the moment, almost everyone who is playing is a Halo enthuiast) and we'll get the beloved return of custom games (which will allow the existance of ntsc-uk games to happen again and custom gametypes by EvilBoris) and there will the single player and all of those new features (like the very likely map editor).

                              Still, tis up to ye.
