i'm glad to hear Simmy. although you never need an excuse for going back to one of the finest shooters ever created. i am already at my 3rd Legendary run through and it's still as entertaining as it was on my 1st, good 5 years back in time.

most interesting is that one of the most criticized missions - assault on the control room - has become my second favourite. it's a blast on Legendary and reaching the control room (without cheating) is one hell of satisfaction

El Leone: how does the customisation of your Spartan work in Halo3 when compared to Halo2? I assume there is no elite character but how are variations in colour schemes dealt with? Can you have stuff like different helmet colours and such like? (see the vid with the white helmet)

Also the saved videos, i'm aware it's first person only but can you view from other players perspectives and can you fast-forward/rewind the vids?

At present Leone & Reektan (I think ?) have it as they were sent codes through the bungie F&F program - The rest of us have LESS THAN FORTY-EIGHT HOURS to wait (dependent on download speeds !)

Well when you go into customisation, these are the following categories:
Armor Primary
Armor Secondary
Armor detail
Emblem Primary
Emblem Secondary
Emblem Background

Most of them are the same as from Halo 2 and obivous. Although the new entry is armour detail which adds a strip above your elbow with your service tag. 30 colours to choose from. Addressing the helmet thing, nah you can't do that. That footage was from bungie's own internal beta (which differes from the public beta). I'm guessing its a small glimpse of whats going to come: A fully customisable spartan, which means EvilBorris dream of having a rainbow coloured spartan will finally come true.

You assumed right, there are no elites in the demo.

Extremly basic in the beta, it can only play it back from your perspective, with no abillitys to rewind or pause it. Again, Bungie have admitted it's basic and its just a very small glimpse of whats to come.

Right. As far as I can tell emblens only appear on your armour now.

Right you do. First character has to be a letter and the other two are numbers. Mine is V48 for example.

Edit: Spike grenade are awesome. Some guy on the other team was trying to play it tatical and tried to throw a spike grenade through the plasma door and then go back through so bullets and grenades couldn't harm him. Shamefully he mistimed his grenade throw so that when he did throw it, it stuck onto the door as heran inside so it got stuck onto his head instead.
