I don't think this will work, as the wheel will not be signed into your profile??

Got my copy from Shopto a little while ago. Just waiting to go home so I can get on it now. Can't wait!

My copy turned up today, nice surprise!

First thought - owch! the menu system is horrible, it looks very nice but keeps freezing whenever you try to select anything not very fluid at all.

What's everyone playing difficulty-wise? I'm doing champion mode which is all-off. There are some standard tune races later on in which you can't mod anything. Pretty tough - very exciting. The AI seemed well in control.

Anyone thinking they will be racing online a fair bit with this, add me please.

My copy turned up today - a day early. Spent the last hour or so with it. Lots of fun - I like the "weight" of the driving model if that makes sense. AI seems pretty reasonable and I've had a couple of really good head to heads vying for position.

Graphically I'm liking it. Car models are nice, lots of environmental detail and its all pin sharp and super smooth.

Superb stuff - bye bye weekend

Had this since yesterday and am absolutely loving it. I haven't played a game this "hardcore" since Crackdown I think, it is very much reminding me of the good old days of Gran Turismo on the Playstation. The feeling of spending freshly earned credits after a hard fought win on new cars and upgrades or just browsing the auction house for a bargain, it is great.

The cars sound and handle like they should, the tracks are varied and of course there is loads of great racing to do. Each tournament/race in single player is different and this is thanks to the AI of the cars, they don't just stick to the racing line.....they will block and barge you off if you try to take their track position, especially in races further on in career mode. The graphics are not amazing but they are not poor by any standards, they do what they are supposed to do well. Special mention must go to the bonnet view, I am used to a proper in car view and usually hate any other view but the bonnet view in this game really gets you immersed into the race especially as you tail a rival car, it gives a great sense of speed. Even when you don't feel like racing there is something to do, sprucing up your car with decals is suprisingly deep.....I spent about half an hour last night doing up some cars! Lastly the soundtrack is superb, these are songs you would race to! I haven't heard a poor song yet, only wish they would play while you race too. Overall, this is just a superb racing simulation.....VROOOOOM!

Do you guys play this on HD tv's or are some people just using an 'old' fashioned one. What i meant to ask is, big difference in it looking 'next gen' without a HD tv? cos i aint got one

and oh yeah, is it still fun without a wheel or do you all own a wheel

              thanks

How does it look to you?

Also, can't imagine how anyone could review this without spending 20+ hours in career, a bunch more in arcade, a whole load more in the shop and loads more online. Although perhaps if you've played the original, it's just an iterative step rather than a leap.

                    Screw you all!

I will be playing this all day tomorrow and all night. I'll play on my own during the day then if people are online from about 6-7pm onwards I will join ya!

Most of us here have HDTVs. Forza is a game which I think benefits hugely from the HD resolution. Being able to see what's coming with crystal clarity, and see exactly how far ahead other cars are is a huge win, and as it's a game all about staring into the far distance it looks so much nicer if it isn't a CRT smudgy mess. Other games benefit much less, but for this one I'd say an HDTV is an absolute must to get the most of the experience.

I play with a pad and I think it controls very well. I'm sure it's better with a wheel but the 360's analogue sticks and triggers are extremely good.

got my copy yesterday, and put quite some time in it , and it's f#cking great !
I'm playing it on champion, and what amazes me the most is the AI, when you're racing against the AI cars with equal cars you're really have to get some good laps to finish first, I didn't even have the feeling I was racing against the AI. They did an amazing job with this.

To give the other side of the coin:

I'm playing with a standard def tv and the wheel.

While I can see that I'd get more detail with a high def set, distant objects are clear and not smudgy. I think the wheel adds so much to this game, the feedback when driving is amazing and I just couldn't go back to the pad. To sum up, I think the wheel is more important in this game than having a high def tv.

Charles, I'm on the same diffculty as you mate - the AI is great. I'll be up for some games over the weekend, you're already on my friends list.

I am away with my football team this weekend... 2 day end of season blow out in Ireland, woooooooooooooooo.... BUT will be picking this up when I get back on Monday along with the wheel. Also got a HDTV in the pipeline but will be enjoying it on my standard def tv for now.

Quick question... is the Vauxhall Astra VXR in the line-up? I drive the SXi model and would LOVE to get some decals onto one of these.
