quick wheel question from me please, do you have to use the pedals or are there flappy paddle things that can act on the wheel as analogue acelerator/brakes ?

The £15 logitech GC ff wheel had that facility. I just presumed it was standard. I much prefer it to getting out the pedals.

I'm pretty sure that's correct - the flappy flappers definately don't have any analogue play in them. I do find it a little bizarre that anyone would want to do this rather than using the pedals though. Each to his own!

Been playing this all day now, have to quickly say I love it. Time has just flown by! I started out with a Civic which I love now. Not bought anything else, its a top end D class, and I'm just saving some money up so I can splash out and make it a bitchin' C class car.

I think that starting off on the low cars like this and working y our way up will allow me to become more proficient with the wheel too. As I feel like I can really control this car perfectly right now.

Got mine today, eventually... Cant really add much to the first play on the game side of things, but the limited edition box is really nice. Good book! Worth the extra for that I'd say.

Yes but it is not the driving experience per-se unless you drive a car adapted for legless/paralysed peeps !!!

I've been in a Fiesta adapted for a wheelchair guy. Grabby thing on the steering wheel so you can spin it with one hand. Accelerate and brake were done by a lever with the other hand. Looked fun. Autobox.

didn't have much time today to play, so I started with the time trails,
It's great to see they kept the scoreboards from Forza1, now you can see before every race what are the best times.
The challenge times aren't that difficult to get,

I did the Top Secret Supra TT yesterday (almost last on the list) and it's just lunatic. When the turbo kicks in the back steps out unless you are either a) in 5th gear or b) in an exact straight line in 4th and not quite on full throttle. The top lap is 10 seconds quicker than me....

What's everyone's upgrade tactics? Do you try and keep all the cars within class so you can use them online or do you turn them into uncontrollable monsters within 20 mins of getting them?

I'm trying to keep them within class so that I've got a nice collection to choose from during online racing and don't have to use the same car all the time (like the CRX in Forza1).

I play the same, I try to keep them maxed out for every class, so far I haven't got a car yet which I'm really getting into, first I want to finish the early races and then get myself a decent car to pimp.

Well something is seriously wrong now.

I just went on to play 20 minutes ago, started the wheel up, then realised I wanted to change my paintwork first. So turned wheel off, controller on and that worked, I quickly changed all and then back to the main menu to change back to the wheel, done that. All seemed fine. All buttons worked, even the pedals which act as Right and Left Trigger I think.

Then I started the race and nothing happened. The pedals wouldn't work, the face buttons didnt work, not even the gears.

Quit the race and everything works again in the menu, tried again and the same happens.

Switched off and restarted, same again, tried it with the controller and same again!!!?

What the hell is going on!!?

I'm quite impressed with this. I don't usually give serious racers much attention but it's more compulsive than the demo due to the amount and choice on offer, and overall a very complete package (as much, if not more so than PGR3).

This game is the best ever. I went on the auction house and was well chuffed to win an E-Type Jag fairly cheaply. Got to main car screen only to see it had a massive erect cock with a red bell end on each door and huge writing saying "the wiener" on the bonnet. me and prinnysquad nearly sprayed the telly down with beer!
