I started in Japan, cos I like CRX and Civics and stuff, but it doesn't seem too much of a hinderance since I can still buy a Corrado and a Lotus other things I need.

Yeah, you get discounts off parts the more you drive a particular vehicle. Nice touch i thought as it encourages mixing the vehicles up rather than just sticking to one all the time.
I started in Europe as most of the expesive cars come from there. Once I need to drop a miilion credits on an Enzo, I'm sure I'll be grateful of that 20% discount.

I simply can't get enough of this game. I used to be a huge driving-sims fan (GT/GT2/GT3 all played to death), but over the past few years I ended up loathing them (too much time invested, too generic, not enough 'fun'). However, this has simply changed my outlook on the whole thing. I've only really been focusing my attention on arcade so far, trying to get used to the tracks and cars etc, but the career mode looks like a treat, and the auction house is a brilliant concept. Oh and then there's the modifications.....

Get it Simmy, you will LOVE it. Anyone who remotely likes racers, sims or arcade ones will get on with this game.
I even find myself trying to do all the low level races right now too even though there are tons of new ones open worth alot more money, I'm actually enjoying the slow races, giving yourself a car which sits half way down the grid and having to work for the win is ace.
Won an Evo VIII from some set of races and haven't even used it yet, having too much fun with my C class Civic and Celica.

I was in the 'ex GT player disillusioned with the serious racer' camp as well.
can't recommend this highly enough, its great and got real 'legs' to. reckon I'll be playing this in months time.
everything is just so accesible.
amazing really, 2 best games this year are both genres i dislike (racing sim and 'sand box' for crackdown) on the console out the 3 latest gen I expected to bond with the least.
funny old world.

I dunno how you guys are so far into it!! I've gotten to level 17 but I've only completed 1 set of races 10/10 for proving grounds...after that I couldn't do one at a time because there are tourneys that require level 20-30+ for me to enter, so I have to use my "crapper" cars I'm not willing to upgrade to high-spec...
I've HAMMERED this since Saturday and yet I feel I'm about 5% (maybe 10% at a stretch) into the career mode! I've only done about 4 races in the arcade section as well!!
Its nice the way it makes you use all your cars, I had to re-use my first Golf GTI MKII today and I realised it's still the car I feel best with, though it's sadly not fast enough now
