How many tiers is there in challenge mode guys anyone now im on tier 4.

10 in total, with each tier requireing you to complete more events per tier

I'm up to tier 8 now, with the characters I've unlocked so far all being level 4-5 (I've been using them evenly). It is starting to get properly difficult now though, Crown Course seems to have evil putting greens on every hole.

MikeF - what level did you need to get Maruyama to in order to unlock the final costume?

Finally opened up Tier 10, took me 4 attempts to beat the Tier 9 Vs game. After 3 defeats it gives you the option to choose what course to play on. So I nailed him on the first course.

Also didn't know that pressing start on the tier screen turns on easy mode (needless to say that won't be geting pressed again)

Crown Field is definatley the hardest of the courses but only just as Silver Peaks can be a nightmare at times (due to the elevation and slopes of the fairways). The greens are fairly easy tbh as long as you look at them before playing the approach shot so you can determine the best place to put the ball.

Still absolutley loving this game but with Bioshock and Blue Dragon due to hit my doormat later this week it may get put on the back burner for a while

so after playing this for a while, what do you guys think?: are the courses nice to replay many times, multiplayer compared to other golf games, how long does it take to complete?

I managed to unlock tier 8 yesterday and had a go of the Crown Field course. Man, its a mean course! I got 10 over for 9 holes.
The greens are really tough and the bunkers are really steep as well.
I'm finding I'm having to do most of the tier 7 challenges a couple of times as well just to beat them.

I hope they have downloadable content in future updates like new courses, characters and challenges, I'd pay for any decent content to keep this game in my PS3!

I've got my copy in the post and was worried about missing stuff due to not understanding the language.

I can - when's the western one out ? This'll probs be region locked for online like everything else so is there much in it between UK & US release dates ?

I don't think it's region locked Yosh. Not seen a date for other regions yet...

According to IGN it's down for release on October 1st (US) & Jan 25th 2008 (UK/ Europe).

They ain't that tough once yopu know them, and know where to put the ball on the approach shot

It will be 'region locked' as you put it, simply because the US and European versions are always changed in comparison to the Japanese version, often having different characters.

Considering the majority of people who would buy the game anyway seem to have already got the Japanese version, I'd say that would be the one to go for if you're looking for the biggest community of online players.

Due to our translation feature and the way that they localise the US and Euro versions I see no reason to wait. The Japanse version is absolutley superb and so easy to navigate

Online is not the only good thing about this game.
