I was gonna say, surely people waiting for the US/EU version because of online-region-lockage will be left out since most of us will be playing the JPN version?

Just unlocked tier 5 and I'm expecting the difficulty to really go up a notch any time soon.

I just love this game. So so playable and I know when my mates come round they'll be into it too.

Definitely my game of the year. At least until Winning Eleven is out!

I think it is one of those games that is quite difficult to explain. PPeople say its "just" a golf game but it is strangely rewarding. The great thing is that you feel like it is your doing so you can see WHY things go wrong. I alter my game for different situations, play aggressively or conservatively in different situations. It is a great game – like all the minnas I have played. I hope the game catches on a bit here although I doubt it will. It is also incredibly charming (imo) and I also love the character profile screens where you can see their reactions and clothing. Sophie sounds so condescending!
Can anyone give me a hand reading the lie? I am a little unsure how much the ball is affected by the angle of the ground to the ball, a quick explanation would be much appreciated.

With regards to the lie it plays exactly as it does when playing Golf in real life

If the ball is on / slope (ball above feet) then the shot will start off towards the left so you need to compensate with your aiming (should produce a draw shot - right to left)

If the ball is on \ slope (ball below feet) then the shot will start off towards the right so you again need to compensate with your aiming (should produce a fade shot - left to right)

If the ball is on a downslope then the ball flight will be lower thus adding on extra distance so less club is usually required

If the ball is on a upslope then the ball flight will be higher thus reducing distance so more club is usually required

The wind also needs to be factored in when aiming with the lie of te ball too

          Hope that helps a little

What are the bars to the top and to the right of the ball image represent? Do some golfers have natural hook or slice even if they get their swing spot on? I'm using the guy in the middle row, far right and he always seems to hit it a little off to the left even if the shot is spot on. The bar above the ball shows the guage a little off centre, so I started to think this had something to do with it?... oooooh I dunno

              Cheers Mike.
Hoolak, think of those bars as the "extremity of ability". Nice phrase I just made up.
Basically, they show where on the ball your player can hit it - depends on lie and also player skill. Those with natural hook/slice will have off centre bars (I think the white notch in the middle shows where a just impact will hit) but you can fight against it. The bars change size for those with differing spin ratings.

Aaah I see. So if the bar to the right displays lots of bar in the bottom half, then the golfer is a wizard of the backspin (give or take depending on current lie)?

                  Yep, in that given situation.
But it will also probably show (from the white mark) that wwith that lie, it will naturally spin back so you may want to account for that too!

I am not too sure as it is one of things I should check but very rarely do. I dunno whether you can exceed the limits with supers and/or just impacts.

After all I've played so far (up to tier 9), I've yet to land a hole-in-one Been close many a time. One day, fellas...One day that hole-in-one shall arrive.

I have had a few aces so far

Anyway next time you go online you will be patched to the latest version

                        Game Play Changes:
                        • Real Shot has a ghost guide now for 15 yard approach shots (should hopefully make it a tad easier now)
                        • Real Shot Putting R2 Button has changed and updated some views.

                        Online Mode Changes:
                        • Chat Log is back. [Used to be in Mingol Online.] Press [] to view in lobby.
                        • Graphical changes in the lobby.
                        • During tournaments you can view a friends only list by pressing []
                        • Points are awarded to players in each tournament after a round.
                        • Drive distance can be seen while waiting for other players

the Vs mode hasn't been added in yet though

Graphical changes in the lobby? Don't take my bannisters away!!!

Intriguing changes to the "real shot" mode. Not that I needed an excuse to play this tonight!

                            Loving this

When you download the updates and they've finished, do you have to restart the game?

                            Comment

Yes, every update requires a restart

                                Worked it out now.

The lobbys/online etc is a little overwhelming at first, couldn't work out how to actually play online?

Loved the lobbys themselves though, nice touch being able to slide down the bannisters etc.

I couldn't find the nets either within the game, for practicing?
