Can you now talk to all riders online or is it still restricted to the nearest three?

Its one thing I hated about previous versions.

Spent a few hours playing championship mode last night and I think it is an improvement over 06. Graphics are better with no tearing during races and only occasional stutter in the training mode.

Handling seems closer to the 2nd game which has been the best so far.

Will try some Live games tonight

It looks nice but by golly it's tremendously hard. I couldn't get on with it and had to crash my way to ninth position, then I returned it to Blockbuster.

You should have stayed on it, after a while it all becomes easy and you start getting the hang of the bike.

Race down to Blockbusters' and re-buy it...you'll regret it.

Probably does appear tough if you've not played a Moto GP game before, can understand that, but well worth persisting with.

Something I have noticed is that the braking yard markers have been removed from last year. Pain that, wonder why

Loving the game though, difficulty levels seem spot on, it is easier to get knocked off on the higher difficulties, but not as easy as it was on last years version.

Tried doing some of the 8 targets for each Moto GP track last night, the lap time ones seem quite tough. Some of the challenges are a pain in backside also - still the replay level with this game is really high.

Online Time Trial leaderboards are great, my total is only about 90 seconds of yours Fuddle. Give it time. Top times are bloody amazing on every track already. Nice to see that if you hit a barrier more than a glancing blow your lap time goes red and doesn't count.

Overall every aspect seems really well planned this year, and have only noticed slowdown on one of the tracks so far.

i saw the times on the leaderboards last night, you were something weird like 2 hours better than me, till i realised i hadnt posted a time on a couple of tracks :P

i do think the difficulyy is a little odd in these games though. it takes i while to get used to the way bikes react after so many car games, and obviously you get better with practice. but as you progress and gain more credits on your bike it becomes easier to control too. i always whack loads on acceleration first so i can get away from the pack, then keep the others more even till brakes reach around 30ish. then just top the others up.

For me its like relearning the game (I forget stuff as got bad short term memory) and coming at it again from a new experience I found the best way to get going was to start with camera 2 chase camera as it stops you tilting the screen and you can see abit more of the track. Just stick with the default controls but when the arrow markes come up for a corner keep going and lean into it then start braking with both as you turn. For real sharp harpin corners you have to lean back and then brake hard then start to turn in and use the rear brake to trail it, this means you can still turn at speed. For medium corners turn in and back brake also but pump the brake as too much it will lock and you will flick it off. You will know which ones arent as if you back brake and you fly off it is too severe so in that case use both. When you learn the corners you find the limits and I got used to it more by doing the challenges for gold by racing against the CPU over and over. Once you get used to the track go back to default chase camera though as because it tilts you get a better guage of how much you can push the bike to and as you know the ideal line it will start to shave extra time off it.

One thing I do remember from the older series is on point buildup for stats braking was considered the least important out of the lot of them for getting going.

You're right some of the top times have been set with stats like 100/0/100/100 - braking power seems to be virtually solely controlled by the bike rather than the rider. Just as well 'cos 400 stat points are going to take some doing.

I've gone back to using triggers for accelerate and brake, no independent braking for me at the moment, did give it a good try but found it harmed my lap times quite a bit.

Isnt their that thing though if you use both brakes at once it harms your turn in, cant rember or not for sure? Im sure I used to rear trail brake on 1 on xbox I just cant remember for sure, same with compounds Im sure I used to use different for rear and brake, need to test more to try and jog this stupid brain hehe

Probably, that's why my lap times are so crap. Braking while cornering is a no-no anway, bad practice and makes you run wide etc.

Slow in, fast out corner wise seems to have done me no harm. I think.

Not even played with wheelbase/compounds/gearing etc yet, there's plenty of time for all that, shame you can't see the settings used by the leaders though

Well I use braking whilst cornering and it does me no harm, yes i don't get the fastest times in the world but i think that's down to my driving anyway.

yeah you should be braking well into the corner, that's why i have the triggers set up for braking. Trail the back break into the corner for fast times.
Also power slide where you can get away with it, try not to tilt the bike over too far otherwise it will highside.

It's a definate improvement over 06, although the framerate is terrible in traing modes for some reason!

Nobody has mentioned the grid graphics in single player yet! LMAO did they make it for the N64 or something or did they put the school leaver in charge of it, it looks fcuking terrible!

Apart from that thumbs up from me!

Spent fair bit of time playing this since release and really pleased with it, difficulty is spot on I've found. Beat Extreme on Legend last night, Moto GP on Legend is a different matter. Seed is down to six. Not done many challenges or individual track goals yet, so the replay value is very high, not to mention Online racing and Time Trials, was just starting to get my times down nicely when the 360 packed up.

You've got three minutes to make up Fuddle

This will be one of my most played games this year without a doubt.

i havent really played this enough.
i still think its great online, but i cant be arsed with the single player. its just really annoying getting knocked off again and again by crappy cpu players not realizing your there. if it wasnt for getting credits i dont think i would bother. ditto for extreme. i'm only really bothered about the actual moto gp part.

i'm going to try to play it a bit more each day, but blue dragon/ridge/skate demo keep taking me away from it. too many things to play now i have a 360.

3 minutes? i shall have to investigate.

It is a really great game. The graphics are mint on some courses, I love how there are helicopters and planes flying by, gives it a good atmosphere. I just want to go straight online with it and use it as a pick up and play game, but you have to go offline with it to get a decent bike if you really want to challenge with those top times.
