Can't believe its been a year since the last one but considering that this franchise is still the most played game at my regular multiplayer all-night sessions thought it best to pick this one up today.
And its another bloody beauty
New additions - 3 click swing system (think the normal control config from Hotshots golf) - only given this a quick try, so used to using the swing stick with TW that it feels wrong. Shot bar goes up very quickly, way too quickly imo compared to HSG - and it reads left to right rather than right to left (oooh the differentiation - who says EA aren't original).
Confidence meter - every shot you take in the game affects your players confidence, and this is a persistent ongoing state. Not played enough yet to see if it works or not, but I can see it becoming a main feature in the long run via multiplayer. Means I will need to create profiles for everyone who plays multiplayer (including an extra one for myself) to make things fair over the long haul.
Gamerface - upload two pics to the ea website (front view and sideview) and you can map them to a character in-game. Not tried it yet but expect updates tomorrow. Looking at demos of it in-game it looks like an easier and quicker way of doing this than Rainbow Six Vegas, plus you can use regular digital cameras instead of the Live Vision camera ... higher resolutions will result in better face mapping (the game claims)
GamerNet - now this is something good. Any shot/hole/round in the game that you make you can instantly save and upload to the GamerNet and set as a challenge. You can ask people to copy an hole in one you pulled off, or replicate a flukey shot that you call 'a trick'. Or get a low score in 9 or 18 holes and you can put that round up and ask people to beat it. You get points for every challenge you beat.
Back to the greens....
