the thing with the way matchmaking works is it'll take a while for experienced players to be assigned an appropriate rank, especially halo2 veterans, though it shouldn't take long till it's all ticking over much more smoothly.

Yeah...this guy was a Halo 2 vet, but had only just popped 3 into the tray by the looks of it. He may be a beginner at Halo 3 but not to the series like me.

Meh, if you've played one online fps you've played them all I say. You move with the stick, you point your weapon with the right stick (unless you're one of those funky southpaw types) and you fire with RT.

Played some social games this afternoon and it was a real laugh. The easy stages are well balanced for beginners.

Then thought I'd have a solo ranked game and I got absolutely slaughtered. As someone who never played the beta, is there much point to using the big heavy weapons like the flamethrower, or are their advantages negated as you have to walk so slowly while carrying them?

Also finished the single player game in normal, only to be confused by the ending.

And finally, I think the thing about the Halo graphics is that they might not be stunning when you look at individual textures, but I feel the overall result is greater than the sum of its parts. I think the environments are stunning and the sense of scale and immersion is amazing. They're also incredibly varied from the first to the last level. I can kind of understand the criticism, but not when the overall effect graphically is so lush and well thought out. Espceially when you have these huge set pieces raging around you without any slow down, I think they've scaled the graphics well.

I absolutely could not disagree more.

Don't worry Jebus, I'm in the same boat ... exact same thing happened to me when I first played it online yesterday.

After a few days of play peoples ranks will even themselves out and you'll only play against people of a similar level. It just takes a bit of time to work and a little bit of time invested by you.

Had a few co-op games with Syoaran/ Style Chimp, where 7 skulls were put on

i think one was for less ammunition in weapons you pick up, one for enemy AI grenade throws are uber accurate, and another for increased enemy AI health

while playing on normal difficulty on the first stage... well, fook me sideways, it was ROCK hard... akin to legendary difficulty :|

                    It's just Halo 3 took

the most amazing ending from Halo and increased it ten fold and put it on a HUGE scale escaping from the ring before it blows. If that didn't excite you or get you going then yes i think you're dead inside. It's pretty obvious that Halo isn't your game though, so i except you're opinion. For me at least it was one of the most exciting epic endings to a game i've played for a long time.
I ment the cut scene after the credits

he might as well said when Microsoft need me wake me up

How is it any different in your opinion then? When I experienced the online beta I picked it up straight away - not because of my familiarity with Halo/Halo 2, but because I was so used to online fps in general. Took me a couple of minutes to work out what button did what, but that was the only problem I encountered.

The Assault Rifle is too powerful at range, the Battle Rifle feels too weak and it always feels like other people can move around faster than me!

The battle rifle imoh is still the best weapon in the game esp MP games

Funnily enough, I feel the opposite.

I feel like the battle rifle is still a weapon of ultimate justice and win, and I can't kill sod all with the assault rifle at range.

Despite saying that the BR seems to be my "Tool of Destruction."

The shotgun's lethal from range too.

Absolutely loved it. Took 7 hours non-stop on normal to clock. Amazing experience. Just as good as Halo 1, if not better.
