Finally bought this yesterday, and so far have played up to level 4 campaign on normal. Not online in this house so can't play online till the end of the month.

So far the game seems amazing, the weapons are just great to use and the graphics are sublime. So far it all seems pretty linear but I am hoping (after reading the EDGE review) that there is one level similar to Cartograher (sp?).

So I bet you guys have already all completed campaign on heroic right?
Il get round to that as usual once normal is done.

BTW- how many levels does this game have?

I've completed on normal, going straight to legendary, already done one level co-op on legendary

Is there any where in game that tell you how close you are to levelling up your skill. Used to get a bar on bungie.net for that in 2 !

Think the negative XP is a little harsh. I understand and agree that it needs to be there, but I think you should be excused a drop out in 1 in every 10 games or something, as we all have the odd need to get off quick occasionally.

Seemed to be a man possessed on this last night, went 19/10 30/11 and 21/1 in kill/deaths in the 3 team slayer games I played and got me first Running Riot which was nice. I am still playing at the low skill levels though, which might explain it

Poor jebus! hehe, I completed on Normal so far, ain't rly had time for heroic atm, really want to do some Co-Op but can't find anyone who will stay with it lol

No you lose XP for quiting only ! You just don't gain any if you lose, or don't come top 2/3 in Lone Wolves !

Not XP, skill rating might decrease if you place quite low though.

also, is it just me or does rank seem to be a lot easier to acquire than it did in the beta?

9 levels that cool.
I'm guessing the later ones are huge.

In Halo2 it was pretty annoying because there was a few small sorta levels near the start that I thought were pointless. It's good that this time they have just made it 9 real levels.

So let me get this straight, XP is awarded every time you play, regardless of how well you do, and Skill awarded for winning games/taken away for losing games?

The last few levels are bigger but they are not huge...the game isn't very long, but it wasn't a problem for me

Regarding EXP I'm really not sure. I've played a total of 8 online matches, won 1 of them. Yet I've got the achievement for 10 played/5 EXP after the 7th game.

It's confusing to say the least.

I think 1 EXP is awarded per good performance ... "good" is defined differently depending on gametype (winning a team game, being in the top N players in a free-for-all, etc).

Performing badly does not affect EXP, only skill.

You gain XP if you are in the top 3 in a single player mode (Lone Wolves etc)

The basic training is all single player so I expect you finished in the top half a few times

That explains it then Mike, I've not finished outside the top 3 yet obviously because its only four player...then the matches with Nige were Team Slayer Doubles and we won then lost!

So how do you gain Exp in team matches? Same way, 3rd or above overall?
