But, yeah, Heroic is great. Though I found the first level the hardest so far. Still haven't completed it though. Just at the

flying bit on the Halo place

    .

I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Not the slightest clue.
The friendly A.I. is pretty stupid yeah, but Id have to disagree with you on the enemy A.I. As has always been the case with Halo it dosnet really show itself untilt you play on Heroic and Legendary but the fact is that each enemy has a different personality, and unlike more games iits very easy to notice.

To be honest though, just the fact that they duck for cover and try to flank you makes them better than alot of games, so no, the A.I. is deffinitley great.

Oooh, I had a cut scene go a little weird. It was the one with the

Truth guy and the black dude and the woman

. The lighting went all rubbish and the frame rate dropped to a crawl, like I was just seeing stills for a bit.

In terms of the story, I am now more confused than ever. I mean,

the Flood are the bad guys, right? But then I meet some that I'm allied with. Then, straight after, I'm being told to escape the Flood and they're attacking me. And what does 'fire the rings' mean?

I know that a certain knowledge of the original games would help, though I played well over half the first and read Boris' synopses of the two games so I can't help feeling the storytelling is lacking.

But the actual gameplay has really hooked me. I absolutely love those huge battles. They are wonderfully laid out and everything has a purpose. Often, when I get through a section, I find things that really would have helped if I had tried things a different way. Those carefully-placed options make the game much more interesting and yet are so controlled it never seems to descend into chaos.

Oh, and I've been playing on Heroic since I got this.

        Dogg Thang,

When they say 'Fire the rings' they mean fire the Halos, which were created to kill the flood by killing its food. The Food being any kind of life force being either Human, Covernant or whatever.

The reason MC,the Arbiter and the Flood team up is because they both share the same goal. Stop them from activating the Halos. So once they had achieved this, the flood put their priority on getting rid of the Chief. Basically, it was just a temporarily alliance.

Yeah guess this bit is a bit confusing if you dont actualy remember, or know, what Halo is designed to do.

You Allied With the Flood Becuase the Prophet Of truth wants to eradicate all life that the flood feed on, so killing him suits both of you, but then when hes dead The Flood still wnat to eat you so turn on you too... simple really.... "Fire The rings" means activate all the Halo rings, thus virtualy destroying the universe.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info guys. It's a clearer now, especially with regards to the Halo itself.

Edit: Oh, one more question - the Arbiter,

is he one of the Covenant? Are we allied with some of them but not others? Or are they a whole different thing entirely?

The Arbiter is a covenant who you played as for about half of the second game, to cut a long story short near the end of the game he came to realise that the prophecy that the Prophets belived in would not take them on a great journey as they though but destroy life, so he decided to side with the Humans and stop the Covenant's Prophets from activating Halo. He is kind of the Commander of the Elites, who are covenant so yes, you are allied with some of them.

I know thats not the most descriptive thing ever, but hope it helps

I know I missed some bits out though so if you need to know anything else just ask.

Touch wood, it hasn't happened to me since the third time. In over 3,100 Halo 2 games it never happened.

Gravemind is basically the flood, They are of one mind, kinda like many other fictional parasitic life forms, and hes the mind.

was playing this earlier and can't believe I only just noticed this but your marine campanions for the beginning of tsavo highway are none other than mal and jane from serenity, they quip about wishing they'd bought along grenades among other humerous lines, big fans of serenity/firefly should definitly go back and pay careful attention to the RT in this level.

Can someone please explain why on level x I feel as though I'm running through Jerry the Berry's bottom?

Ah that makes sense...I guess .

Does anyone have any tips for getting the score achievements? I'm really struggling with them, best I did so far was 12000 something on level 1 on my own. What difficulty would be best to play on (heroic with more skulls, legendary with less skulls), should I go for the time multiplier or just take it slow and steady to keep the death penalties down?

Has anybody had any trouble getting the I Would Have Been Your Daddy skull to register once you've picked it up? I went through the torturous process to get it and was fuming when I went to check my skulls once I'd started the next level only for it to be still missing. Had to do the entire level again...

Yeah I had to do that skull twice. A right bitch as it's right at the end of the longest level!

At the other end of the spectrum, has anyone met the Jonathan Ross marine?
