    Zero Punctuation Reviews Halo 3

I know some of you guys enjoyed the Bioshock review he did, and he's now dared to take on Halo.

Will be full of spoilers if the Bioshock one was anything to go by, so don't touch it if you've not finished it like me !

Going by the first 30 seconds though, it could give some joy and fuel to the haters out there

See, not just me. Anyone out there wanna make a video of it with sound effects from Conker's Bad Fur Day played over the top? Am never sure whether I need to be fryingpanning sweetcorn or blasting Flood

It's an interesting review. A couple of things he says ring very true, that "It’s hard to take things seriously when most of the guns look and sound like they were manufactured my Mattel" and "Halo 3 is by no means bad, what it is is average, boilerplate, run of the mill, a competent shooter; it’s only remarkable feature being the degree to which it’s stuck up it’s own arse."

If I rememeber correctly, during the beta period Bungie said that lunge distances depend on how good/bad your connection is.

Now this is something I don't understand. It's been a long time since I played it but IIRC in Halo it was explained that the Flood were present on the rings because they were sealed up inside the libraries. And I also seem to recall the reason for the control room area being mountainous and under near Arctic conditions was because it would be too harsh an environment for the Flood to survive, thus containing them to certain parts of the ring. The question is, why go through all that trouble to make the Halos if they were only going to dump the enemy inside them anyway?

Just realised that on The Storm, When you come to fight the scarab theres

A Elevator in the middle which you can access and get a vehical onto. Was pretty epic driving my Brute Chopper straight onto the scarab, blowing it up and then escaping.

I`ve trawled the internet to try and find out how you do the melee lunge and I still don`t know, it`s like the best kept secret in the world!
Welcome to Halo 2 and 3 online.

Yeah and if you think that's bad, snipers don't actually work either

waaaaaaaaaaaah! I need help.... Tears are about to fall from my eyes.

I'm on Tsavo Highway, just got off the broken bridge where it seems my vehicle can't go no further, I turn the corner and clear the grunts and stuff, then loads of backup comes jetpack dudes the lot... I have about 300 bullets in my assualt rifle and 3 rockets in my launcher thingy. I'm basically getting bummed out there. No one is coming close enough for me to pinch a better weapon. There's a big group of what look like Elites with big green blob gun in the centre of my path and a Wraith just behind them having a laugh at my expense I'm on Heroic and now kind of wishing I hadn't acted so hard in choosing that difficulty

IIRC it's because the Forerunner didn't want to eradicate the Flood completely, they didn't feel it was right to completely destroy a species. However they knew how dangerou they could be, so they built the Halo's to contain the flood with the additional feature that they were weapons to be used as a last ditch measure in case the Flood got out of control.

Are you talking about the part where youre stuck in the building and the dropship comes and drops them off? and then the wraith appears? if you are check the building, theres a battle rifle and loads of ammo in it, makes it alot easier...

No, I'm just off the broken highway outdoors.

Guilty Spark more or less confirms it in the Library "I am glad to see some of them survived" (or something to that effect). It'd suggest the Flood were indexed on the rings.
