I'm going through ep1 but actually started off HL2 the other night just because I figured it was familiar and I could blaze it - and blaze it I did up till a point

Finished Portal last night and that was just fan-****ing-tastic - screaming out for DLC chambers.

TF2 is also fantastic - the scope for strategy & teamwork is phenomenal and seeing Bleeders spy charge up behind Rods heavy gunner and knife him in the back last night was hilarious (amongst others). Hosted a 12 player lobby and we filled it (50% Brits, 50% US) and it still seemed to run almost without a hitch.

Aye, bloody great game this, never played it before, but damn... how good!?!!? Those sentry guns though. Aaarrggghhh!!! >_<

+1 for the Love for TF2....I was unsure If I would be really into it....its incredible...apart from the Lag but a patch is coming at the end of this week

Love it...better than Halo 3? It really could be! Need to play more to make a solid judgement...I can't quite get the look speed sensitivity at that sweet spot....playing an FPS on a pad defo needs a little bit of "Halo sticky reticle". a little bit of help is required...Halo 3 gets it PERFECT...much better than before....a blancing act between "auto aim" and free aiming.


Can't believe this game....when I played portal i thought it was one of the best game I've played in years! and still think so!...Its a perfect, bite sized, unique puzzle game with precisly zero things wrong with it....cynical pessimism well and truely not engaged.

and even then! Its prehaps the "weakest" part of this package....

I think the Orange box could be the best "game" i've ever bought.

Sorry to hear its problimatic......It could be your 360.....thats one unreliable machine. (>_<)

Yeah I did try it out on another machine and it was peachy.

I have had problems with other games too, halo 3 was tempremental and so was bioshock the other. I just got it back from MS too!

Borrow a HDD and see if it's any better - if not, the DVD drive is goosed, if so format your own HDD (backup first if possible obv)

After a wicked session on TF2 with fellow forumites I played some advanced Portal, 3 am I went to bed. That game is sublime!

Edit - A note on TF2. For me this is great FPS game. Forgetting the brilliant art style and the comedy injected into it which are both fantastic, this is a very well thought out game.

It`s very simple like Quake or UT so you mostly just need to worry about blasting, but in the simplicity lies the tactical element of class selection. I played a game last night where Me, Yoshi and Bleeders got our arses handed to us in one round, but by changing our classes (most notibly Yoshi`s medic) to compliment eachother we kicked arse.

Out of all the available weapons and characters, they are all balanced in terms of amounts of health, speed and weaponary. In the pretty lengthy session we had last night not once did I cry "thet`s bull****" or have a whinge about someone being a **** because they were using a character with somekind of overpowered weapon.

The engineers turrets are extremely powerful when leveled up but that then encourages you to play a different strategy and think of ways to take it down. If I was to pushed to complain about anything it would just be about the scout class, that bastard is like Ben Johnson on a double dose of steroids, but his primary weapon is short range and his health is the lowest of any class so there is a trade off.

I love this game!

There is an option called "Commentaries" in the menu of the 360 version.

Just played through most of Portal I think in one sitting, I'm onto

the 19th chamber, the part with like 15 pipes above you moving back and forwards and I have to get to the top, tried it for like 5 minutes and couldnt find a way, then realised I have to leave for work!

So far its such a great wee game though, quite short, but the advanced levels should be fun to try after its finished!

Slowly sussing out my crash problem, I booted it without the HDD and it runs fine. So it's definitely a Hard Drive problem, shame i cant save the bugger though

I think i'll format it and recover my tag

edit: formatted, recovered tag, still doesn't work. Without HDD it runs 100&#37;, what a load of nosh.
