I'm pretty sure that server would just violently explode if 128 people actually all logged onto it.

I had the sign up issues as well. Creating an account does not work, as mentioned, they've cleverly mapped the @ key on UK keyboards to pop up the console. To get round that though just put in a username/password on the main screen and go from there. Odd, but works.

Couldn't get it working with my 360 pad though so couldn't really play it for long (only got a trackpad otherwise). Looked nice though!

Pretty useful info here, http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/sho...d.php?t=578721, basically gives a whole load of performance tweaks, such as unlocking the FPS etc. From what I hear TweakGuides are working on a guide also. Ran a simple 1v1 Duel on ShangriLa to test the sort of FPS I would get and managed this:

        2007-10-14 11:51:13 - UT3Demo
        Frames: 28200 - Time: 312582ms - Avg: 90.216 - Min: 49 - Max: 142

You can also enable AA in the Nvidia Control Panel, look for UT3 Demo and set it there, I think it works.

Haven't tried this on my own PC (heaven forbid), but my brother's been playing it. Don't like the look of it much from the levels I've seen, is it me or have the graphics gone a bit down the Gears of War slope?

I think this is what ruined subsequent UTs for me. I loved UT at the time, playing against mates at uni, running around all those big maps, but somehow the UT2003 & 2004 demos just left me cold.

I really want to like this release - especially since I've become more of a console player now, and have discovered that I really enjoy gaming on the sofa - and the screens that Revolution6000 posted look amazing, but somehow I just don't have any confidence that this'll get any playing time. I can just see myself picking it up in a couple of years' time when it's in the bargain bin.

                  Stroller.

UT 2003/4 were both alot like quake 3 in the regard to how they were faster and more manic than UT's orginal gameplay.

Always seemed like this was a shame as I thought the Original UT was the better game by far when it and Quake 3 were released.

This is just another continuation of 2004 really, it looks nice but the gameplay does nothing for me.

Another lover of the original UT here, it was perfection, and still is in my opinion, I still have it installed on my PC.

played this today all i can say is meh plays like what has gone before

might have a advanced graphics engine but really it was such a fast pace and was so concentrating on winning that didnt really notice the detail or anything unlike in gears of war where its much slower

Just played a bit more of this (Shangri La map this time) but it's very difficult to get excited about it. Nothing really new gameplay wise is there? Or is pretending to be dead (by pressing F) the big deal?

You could do that in the original UT though :P

I do like this as a game in it's own right. Its just more UT2004 as opposed to the original UT, and that will always bother me enough to probably not buy this
