It's just the sensitivity that changes. It's much more 'lenient' on judging your pitch on the easier levels.

You never have to match both note and key though, if there's really high bits you can just drop an octave, as long as you're in tune.

this is going to get expensive, can see 99p a song removing large amounts of cash from my wallet but like the concept.

much prefereable to bunches of 3 songs or more.

love the idea of families sat round this xmas singing along to No Suprises .......... 'this is my final fit my final bellyache ..'

Already bought three tracks but there were at least 10 I wanted straight away...

How can they do this so cheaply though? 99p for song AND video!

"I wish it could be Christmas everyday" is already up, I expect more Christmas songs

Never ever played a singstar game before but I have a copy of this sat on my desk (along with mics) so I shall be embarrasing myself when I get in from work tonight.

I assume you can duet the tracks?

Yep you can duet all of them.

On songs where they really can't be done they split it so you sing a bit each then sing the chorus together, but there are also songs put in there especially for duetting and there is a duet section on the singstore.

Beware, some parts on duets aren't sung in the key you thought they were. We Built This City and Need A Little Time are classic examples

ha ha, that was great on one of the PS2 versions, couldn't do it without holding the mic by finger tips and sticking your pinky out a la Tony Hadlee

whats the form on this, do people sing in their own voice and 'make the song their own (tm Simon Cowell on X-Factor auditions) or do you go for a Stars In Their Eyes impersonation ?

Here's my guide to how good each song on the disc is to sing in the game -

Blink 182 - All The Small Things - Bad, too hard.
Blur - Coffee & TV - Ace song, nice and easy, but a bit long.
Britney Spears - Toxic - Great song, but bloody impossible to sing.
Coldplay - Fix You - Wife and I both despise Coldplay, so skipped this.
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. - Great, great song, great fun to sing and rap.
Gwen Stefani - Cool - Good song, medium/hard to sing.
Junior Senior - Move Your Feet - Not a favourite song of mine, but great fun in the game.
Macy Gray - I Try - Good song, but bloody hard.
Musical Youth - Pass The Dutchie - Impossible to sing and, as such, incredibly amusing. A definite hit.
Ne-Yo - So Sick - Dull in every way imaginable.
Orson - No Tomorrow - Not a great song, no fun to sing.
OutKast - Hey Ya - Best song ever (obviously) and great fun, to boot.
Primal Scream - Movin' On Up - Not as fun as I thought it'd be.
Pussycat Dolls - Beep - Awful. Terrible song and no fun.
Radiohead - No Surprises - Far more fun to sing than I'd suspected.
Razorlight - America - No fun and has been stuck in my head since we played. I hate it now.
REM - Losing My Religion - Surprisingly hard, but good.
Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman - Something Stupid - At least it's an actual duet, which is good as I always play in duet mode.
Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Bloody hard, but good fun.
Supergrass - Alright - Good fun, but it's better as a song song than a game song, I reckon.
The Automatic - Monster - Some really annoying sections ruin this for me.
The Cardigans - Lovefool - Ace. Easily my best performance and therefore great.
The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger - Good song, good video, impossible to sing properly, yet still great fun.
The Killers - Mr Brightside - A bit of a slog, to be honest.
The Stone Roses - She Bangs The Drums - Not bad, because however far off you are you're still going to sound better than Ian Brown live.
The Zutons - Valerie - Wish it was the Ronson/Winehouse cover, but not bad fun.
Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It - Stupid, but brilliant.
U2 - Beautiful Day - Awful lyrics, no fun to sing, yuck.
Weezer - Buddy Holly - Couldn't get a handle on this one, but I think it'll still get picked now and again.
Wolfmother - Love Train - I didn't get this one at all, though I amused myself by throwing rock poses while doing it.

Can you turn the original vocals off like in the first game?

I was wondering this as well but I couldn't find an option to do so. I'm sure it must be there though as it seems a bit wierd for a Karaoke game to have the full song for you to basically sing over.

You can turn the volume of the mic up and down mid song though to drown them out, but I find that distorts it a bit and makes you less accurate.

The one issue I have is with the game not telling you what part you are singing in a chorus with harmonies. For example, in Blink 182's "All the small things" I'm not sure which harmony of the "nanananananas" i'm supposed to be singing. Likewise with Bradders "Thats no way to tell a lie" during the "Sha na na na" sections. I don't think it actually matters though and I'm reading too much into it because I'm a snobbish musician type person...
