Thing is, at the same time you were playing the original Sensi on the Mega CD with a d-pad, Amiga owners were playing the superior SWOS using joysticks. The two just aren't comparable.

I almost considered buying a 360 purely for this XBLA release, but then I realised I could play online with the game on PC and use my favoured joysticks from back the day.

Joysticks and using just one button made Sensi hard work imo. I know SWOS was a much better game, but when it came to controls the Mega Drive and Mega CD versions won hands down, and thanks to the real crowd samples the Mega CD version had a Wicked atmosphere .

I never liked having two buttons for Sensi in the console versions, but that's just probably because I was so used to using one button.

Well it was 3 onthe Mega CD and Mega Drive versions

          A -Shot

          B- Long Pass

          C - Short Pass

          + Sound Samples

= Best version of the game

I had a plethora of sound sample thanks to the massive mod scene for PC. One button thanks and the depth of career mode in SWOS.

Anyways, 360 one now provides us with online play. Live! play>Mega Cd 3 button not much skill required excuse

The game remains very faithful to the original Amiga/PC game in terms of gameplay and in fact everything else, due to being able to flip the default enhanced graphics and sound to 16bit old school. Personally, I'm sticking with the new look. The only thing that's really different is the new batch of custom teams. The sprites have been redrawn and whilst they're still diddy, you can make out their faces (just ). The pitches seem a bit better and over time, provided there have been sliding tackles, the pitch will get a bit muddy. There's also some simple but nice weather effects. Snowed in my first game, which made me get all Christmas-y and got a sack full of goal scored against me.

One new enhanced graphical effect I'm not too sure about is the ripple effect when a goal is scored. I think I'd just prefer to see the ball bobbling in the net.

The game is tricky. In my first match I won 2-0. Since then I have lost every match except for a long stretch of 0-0 draws against my mate in local multiplayer. Top laugh though.

Haven't had a chance to test the online yet as my girlfriend is currently hogging the TV the 360 is connected and watching Angel DVDs (big nerd ).

For those who haven't played it in the past, one of the big fun factors of the game is the aftertouch. You can create long, high and curvy lobbing balls up field by holding the kick button (this game only has one button for all) and then quickly pulling away from the way your player is facing. Pulling away diagonally will result in some mad bend being applied. Goals can be scored like this. You can also push forward after kicking for a driving shot.

The best thing to do is practice. try and work out where on the pitch is best to do certain shots etc.

The game works surprisingly well using the 360's left stick too. Didn't take me long at all to get used to it.

Bottom line, you'll have a laugh with all its spooniness. Best to play with other humans. If Live! works well, then it's defo a worthy purchase.

Will post back when I've give that a go.
              Thank you for that

                Hey, no probs

Play about 15 online games now. Firstly I played 2 Player (unranked) matches only to find they suffered from a lot of pausing. Then, I went to play Ranked matches where I found 90% of these games to run fine.

Got beat a lot at the start, but I didn't want to stop until I'd got a few wins. Addictive stuff.

Would of liked Codemasters to have reworked the pre-game menus for the online instead of sticking to as if you're playing a local game.
