    Ace Attorney:Apollo Justice [USA-NDS]

Been looking forwards to this for a very long time, and although I've not had a great deal of time to play it yet, thought I'd get the ball rolling for this one whilst I while away my hours at work waiting for my next session on it.

If you've played the demo you're not far behind where I've made it so far, but already I've been totally sucked in. As a character Apollo is still very agreeable, very charming and witty - essentially he's Phoenix all over again with a couple of new quirks and new hairstyle. His 'OBJECTION' shout is quite impressive too

Already there's been a lot of hinting towards post-GS3 shennanigans, what with Phoenix's inclusion in the first case it seems they're quite keen to have you unravel how his character has changed, which is a welcome inclusion.

Within the first hour or so I've had to use the DS-specific examine function from the port of GS1, not sure if the other ones (dusting for prints etc) will come up but it wouldn't surprise me. Will keep you posted with the new ones as and when they come about.

Damn you work for keeping me from this!

I'm so glad to hear you say this - I loved Phoenix Wright as a character and have been feeling that without him I won't enjoy the series half as much. I'm also hoping that the stories are the same kind of crazy shenanigans as ever!

Just wondering, where did you order this from to get it so quickly? I've ordered it for my brother from Play-Asia and although it shipped Monday morning I'm pretty sure he hasn't got it yet.

Also Play-Asia, but stumped up the cash (almost as much as the game itself!) for UPS shipping as I knew I'd be tearing my hair out waiting for it otherwise

I shared the same fears about having a new character take the lead, but thinking back now it makes me wonder why I felt this knowing that even the background characters have always been absolutely excellent. Same goes for the scenarios, I've barely even started and the first case has already piqued my interest. Whilst I can't offer much in the way of detail I hope my confidence in this is infectious enough to put some other minds at ease.

Yers I like it. At least I can understand it now. I hated how the JPN one had no English select.

        Kept you waiting, huh?

I'll be getting this on payday, massive fan of the series. Just tell me one thing, how's the music!

The music so far seems okay - still not up to the standard of the first sadly (especially on *those* moments when you raise an important objection), but fairly decent!

Ah I see, I was worried about the shipping charges as I was a bit wary of getting stuck with customs charges since it's not going to my house.

And yeah, although I've liked basically every PW character so far I feel that your main character has to be a strong one. Far too many games have been tainted by their awful lead characters, so I'm glad to see that hasn't happened here. I'm not really expecting the music to be as good as PW1, but I'm happy as long as it's decent enough.

This little beauty turned up yesterday & im loving it, the first case was interesting & its nice to see the game updated with some nice bits of 3d to add to the drama.

Like all the characters so far Apollo is just as likeable as phoenix which was a relief to me, about a third of the way through the second case. Nice to see that

                Emma Skye

appears in the second case slightly older & her character has developed.

Only thing thats dissapointing is theres no fantastic artwork on the case select screen like the other games. I used to love seeing the art.

It's on the way from Play-Asia, so I'm really hoping it arrives tomorrow. Since I'm not doing anything tomorrow, I've got plenty of time to get stuck into it.

The courtroom seems to have slightly new lighting but, so far, it seems little has changed. Being the first real DS version, they could have added much more and given it a bit more of a revamp. But it's more of the same and, for that, I'm grateful.

The first case seems longer than any of the previous first cases. And, in true PW style, it seems to make little to no sense. But they carry it off well and the dialogue is funny and full of character.

It didn't take me long to get through it and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.

The first case was good, and was longer compared to other first cases. The second and third cases weren't quite as good, though. However, the fourth case made up for it as it was fantastic. It's definitely the best case in the entire series, and even better than AA3's final case.

It's taken a while to get used to being Apollo, but I am starting to like him more. I still prefer Phoenix though. I didn't really like Klavier that much as I thought he was rather annoying most of the time. I think Godot is the best prosecutor.

Well I took my time with this and finished it today. I really enjoyed it. More AA goodness, for better or worse. Better in that I love the Phoenix Wright games and this has more of the same with some great cases. Worse in that there's no forward movement. This game brings nothing new. In fact, with the removal of presenting profiles and (for the most part) psyche-locks, this is a step backwards in ways.

Those elements helped the last game where it really needed it - the investigation sections. In this one, though there are thankfully only a few investigation parts, they are really dull and made even worse by the lack of responses from the characters. That seemed a little lazy actually.

But the cases are great. Case 4 throws in an odd system that I really enjoyed and it really came together nicely. I really liked some of the new characters. Yeah, I missed Gumshoe but I was actually happy to have moved on from the whole channelling thing which I felt had run its course. I hope that Capcom develop these characters further rather than going backwards.

Overall, a good game and more of the same. But, as the first DS game and featuring a whole new cast, I wish they had made more (or even some) improvements.

Gumshoe is my most missed character too

For the first time in the game I'm stuck, ugh.

At Brushel's cross-examination where he's talking about Misham's 'talent' and how it was some work to get him to agree to an interview. The bracelet is available to use but I can't seem to find any movement from him during any of the lines?

Still, enjoying it a tonne. Case 4 is getting pretty interesting, and I've quite enjoyed the other up to here.

That took me a while too. If you want a hint, here it is -

                              Brushell perspires when nervous.
