had a big sesh on this last night, extended play really starts to show some depth to the handling model and how the different classes vary very significantly.

really tricky to swap from a couple of drift events in a tail happy Mazda to a Viper.

drifting seems to have clicked for me now, loving the race events were you have to drift round tracks with 6 other cars.

tried to perfect the way on the US tracks you can clip the curbs really hard in a slide to turn yourself in and take off excess speed, really gets you round the tracks well and catches up opponents.

think this is topping PGR4 for me by quite a bit. great package.

What impresses me is I'm 6 seasons in and feel like I've made good progress, but then I look at the leaderboards for the teams I'm miles away from the top spot. This one is going to keep me seriously busy.

Only just started the Career mode as I've been to busy playing on Live. Did the Le Mans 24hr at the end of season 1 and it was Awesome.

When do I get to hire a new driver for my team?

seem to recall you get the option to hire a driver quite early once you have enough dosh or rep points.

my lot so far are mostly useless and do stuff all

I think it's once you've upgraded one of your licenses. Not actually done a race with my new employee yet.

You get a team mate as soon as you unlock a liscence. I got mine by doing the JPN ones (I think its around 80k) you see it at end of each race for each region anyway m8.

Its weird as the demo I really didnt enjoy the drifting events but since getting the full thing all Ive done is go up to nearly liscence 2 on the JPN sections as I find the drift and 1v1 hill events fantastic. I started that was as I wanted to leave the USA street racing till last (as it was my fav in the demo) but its back fired as I just cant get enough of drifting now. You can also buy some fantastic cars.

Game has some serious depth to it the deeper you go.

anybody noticed that spa circuit is like an Escher drawing and somewhat impossibly almost all downhill in this ?

Er, no, can't say I did. It starts off with a sharp incline followed by a right-left sweeping down and the rest is flat. Considering the track is a giant 3D model, I don't see how there could be any Escher shennanigans going on.

yeh, you go uphill for about 400 yards then spend 2-3miles roaring downhill, can't be right.

How does this compare to Rally Challenge 2 (or 1). That game had me hooked for ages.

I'm quite enjoying this. It feels quite hard though, or I could be rubbish. I'm barely winning races on normal! I am enjoying it though.

A question: what money does my team-mate take? It says 35% but... 35% of what? I'm trying to work out if he's earning his keep or not and I've no idea what he's taking a cut of. Just what he's taking.

Ive got right back into this since rebuying it on PS3 and joining a gaming clan where on it loads and got a tourney next week starting

Yeah, that just doesn't add up. Unless it includes the team winnings too, oh well, he's regularly second which is good enough!

The AI in this is a bit Mario Kart isn't it?

Also: Am I right in thinking that fastest laps are only uploaded to the leaderboards if you don't use flashbacks?
