VC is a great chill out game I find. I thought Mirror's Edge was pants (well, the demo was anyway).

I see this game has jumped back up to #5 in the US PS3 chart. This is great news as without decent sales we'll never see a sequel and that'd be a real shame. I'm sure there are plenty of Wii owners who'd simply love to play and on-rails version of the game though ;-)

Do you have a source for that info, mate? Would love to see it for myself.

LOL!1 If they had completely new characters and story set in another time but using the same mechanics I'd be interested, but thats a hell of a lot to ask for in a videogame sequel...

2 Turn A Rank tactic for the last level

Start off with
Largo
Sniper
Alicia
Rosie
The rest as shock troopers
(It helps if they are Elites)

1st turn
Isara Smoke the entrance
End Turn

2nd Turn
Isara Smoke Maximillian
Get Largo to take out the two closet towers
Get your sniper to take out the far tower
Save Game (If you need to)
Now rush Max with Rosie, Alicia and another Shocktrooper
Attack him until he teleports
Rush him again with Alicia but use the defend order on her before hand
Rush him with Rosie (I think that takes 2 cps)
Attack him with Rosie until he is dead.

It was a while ago I did it so I might have missed out something but that is the genral gist.

That and make sure you have other shocktroopers that can give you assist fire when taking turns. The last fellow's a tough one but can't withstand a continous barrage of machine gun fire. It'll be frustrating but you'll get there in the end.

1 turn strategy

Required:
sniper
Vyse with all potentials and most damaging weapon possible
Orders: attack boost, concentrate fire, awaken potential, defense boost if your feel like it.
Rosie, Largo, Alicia for extra CPs.

Use sniper to take out the tower far away. Use anyone to take care of the other two towers. Shocktroopers can do this just like lancers can.
Now issue the above orders to Vyse and see him trigger challenge lover and double attack. Maximilian dies in one attack. If it doesn't (double attack doesn't trigger, weapon not powerful enough), you still have enough CPs to follow and finish him off.

Cheers for the advice, guys. I combined your strategies with a couple of others I've seen elsewhere and managed to get out of there in 3 turns with an A rank.

Here's some final thoughts I posted on rllmuk. No point retyping them...

Despite my frustrations I loved the game to bits and it's easily my favourite title this generation. It plays extremely well but it's also beautiful to look at and has a good story with some very likeable characters. It's also great that there's tons of stuff to do even after you've cleared the story mode.

I've now done all of the bonus 'report' missions and all of the skirmishes, including the one that unlocks after completion. And I still have all of the DLC to do. This game never really ends does it?

I finished it last night, with getting A on all the battles except the first 5 when i was first learning the game. Loved it from beginning to end. It was made by the same people who did Arcadia right? Which would explain why the characters are so great even the non main ones, they all have that substance thats really important. Such incredibly detailed non-essential information, you don't need it but its there if you want it.

Some minor nitpicks i have, I just wish that the Valkyria were explored some more and the final battle is the easiest battle in the game, did it in 2 turns on my first go...
Oh and the cgi fmv look really cheap, it looks worse than the in-game engine which is already a beauty to behold.

I found that the lack of emotional response from Welkin for Isara's death was really poor, it hurt his character for me tbh.

Took me 38hrs to complete. Have to download the dlc and play through it again, a hugely enjoyable experience. Would love to see another game in the series.

Oh and that ZP review was an abomination. I liked him till he flew right off the mark on that one. I don't think he even played it tbh and just made **** up in the review.

I don't completely agree with Yatzee on this but I enjoyed his review.
I do agree on the story containing too much anime crap (and the anime version is even worse...and no decent battles so far), but that's what happens when you are forced to play games you won't even care about in the first place and when you listen too much to people complaining that your reviews don't contain enough swearing.
