Well everybody just got the japanese version and im loving it never played any of the others but glad i did thanks to Largo for persuading me, hope other people take a chance on it, you wont regret it. Love the old school style and feel and the cheesy techno/eurobeat/j-pop music is WICKED lol graphics are pretty good but it's the gameplay im loving
anybody whos got the japanese version can hit me up for some online battles bring it on

Looks like Sega are doing a Namco, seems they're charging for new character parts this week, ￥320 for a set of male or female character parts, not a good sign.

I bought these the other week with some spare yen I had left over, you get a couple of extra hairstyles, glasses, tops and some hats and jewellery, it also seems that it's the same as with the cars as there already on the disc, can't really complain too much about the cars because they were free but charging for content thats already on the disc is a bit cheeky, also looks like theres quite a few empty slots for character parts still, so no doubt they'll be some more to come.

As for the game though, after getting over the huge difference in handling from stage 3 it's my GOTY so far, it might not do anything new but i've put more hours into this than anything else i've played this year.

Recieved this yesterday from Yesasia.

Just wondering can you unlock new parts for your car in this one? As i've beaten the first 3 stages and i haven't unlocked anything.

Also what the deuce is up with the handling? it feels alot looser than the previous game and i can't even use the d-pad.

You unlock points that you then have to use to buy upgrades. Pick the bottom option - from memory - in time trial mode or the story/arcade mode to go to the upgrade shop.
