I stopped playing the game when the

    mother goes to the hospital

, I think it's episode 5. It's a really good game, even with the slightly fiddly controls. The atmosphere is superb and really got under my skin after a while.

Which is actually why I stopped playing. I think I'm getting old... or turning into a girl or something. I just don't like scary things any more. What's happened to me?

I found I was sort of having to dare myself to play it but really wasn't actually enjoying it. Not through any fault of the game but because I have changed seemingly and horror doesn't draw me in the way it once did. It's weird coming to that realisation.

You're not alone, Dogg. I'm starting to feel the same. The older I get the more fear you can smell about me. My girlfriend is starting to complain about when I chicken out of horror/thrillers she wants to watch on TV...and the smell.

I think I first sensed my woosness back at Doom 3 on PC.

Derserves it's own thread that topic, so the girls of NTSC-uk can unite.

Glad I'm not the only one. We're a bunch of big girl's blouses.

I'm up towards the end of chapter 3 and really can't be arsed with this anymore, besides the fiddly controls it doesn't seem like I've had an awful lot of gameplay so far, and what bit I have had is spent running away and hiding for the most part. I suppose it's my own fault as I never read any reviews or played the original games but I was hoping for a bit more action. Does it pick up a bit later on.

Theres plenty of times where you can beat aload of shibito to death after the first couple of episodes. It depends whether you want to do that or be stealth though, i enjoyed beating them to death with a gardening fork.

Finally got round to finishing this and what a great game. This is my first time with any Siren game, really atmospheric and very creepy, mental story too - i had no idea what the hell was going on. Especially in the last episode

how trippy was that last boss fight ? I thought I had taken a few hash cakes

Looks like I'm a bit crapper than some of you though, my complete time was just over 14 hours though I did mess around a lot.

I hope Siren 2 gets the same treatment as I'd love to play that too.

I gave up on this as soon as I got to the first escort the girl bit, sorry but horrible controls + nearly impossible to see + escort mission in a survival horror game = **** off

Is that the bit with the Japanese girl because I gave up at the exact same point, just got fed up of running away from enemies and hiding in sheds and cupboards, not my idea of what makes a game fun to play really.

Usually you'll get a weapon somewhere pretty quickly so you don't need to hide too much. Only when you play as Bella where you can't use any weapons is it at its hardest.

I actually both hated the first big escort mission and utterly loved it - when I realised it was a set piece I stopped trying to reload and do it without being detected, and it was both wildly frustrating and one of the most atmospheric, terrifying, mad scrambles to rescue an NPC I've ever experienced in a videogame. Jesus, I love how scarily visceral the combat is - the horrible, desperate stabs you make with the knives just freak me out no end. I was charging straight into the final group of them around the shed, swinging away, shouting "Get the **** away from her" at the screen.

I've given up, sort of, on one of Bella's later missions - where you're

trapped in the house again, starting in the cupboard, only this time the lights are on and the whole family are there

. I just shook my head and put the controller down, I was too scared to carry on. Haven't been back since. I really must get it done; just so many other things I need to play...

That part was freaky as hell, I really sat there for ages thinking 'what the hell do i do ?' Then of course you figure it out but still, creepy stuff.

Can you adjust the buttons? I want to swap L1 and R1.
                              Kept you waiting, huh?

                                Whooo thread from the dead

Picked this up the other week & started playing through, currently only upto chapter but so far it's ok.
Not as scary as I expected but hoping it will get creepier as the game goes on.
However the controls are just freaking awful.
I struggle with them so much & the camera really doesnt help, worst system ever I think...I will be persevering though as I'm looking forward to see what happens but I sincerly hope that if they port 2 over they fix the control & camera issues it's so infurating at times not being able to see or move properly.
