I do agree with everyone on the choice of level being a bit dump. I don't know why they didn't pick the E3 press demo where you played as Darth Vader. Everyone raved about that.

There are a couple of issues I had though. Obviously i'm not sure how old this demo is, but I thought the annimation was a tad clunky on the Apprentice.

Also I don't like the fact there doesn't seem to be a lot of weight to anything. Pick up a droid and throw it at a wall and it just explodes and vanishes in a rubbish PS2 style effect. The same problem exists when you throw a tiny little crate at a tie fighter it just explodes an vanishes.

I know its the force but I would expect there to be some difference when chucking a tie fighter comapred to a crate. Its just as easy, and once again clip anything and it just explodes into nothing. I want it to drop in a big hulking smoldering mess and add to the geography of the play area.

Looking forward to playing it, but its not quite the show piece I was hoping for.
Size matters not. Only different in your mind.

Did you not learn anything from the Empire Strikes Back?

LOL yeah but I never understood that because Yoda had a proper 'bead on' trying to move that x-wing.

THe demo has more powers unlocked than you start with in the full game

I got the impression they were more levelled than the demo, because even in the demo you increase the potency of the force push.

im not convinced by the demo. Its not a buy at the moment.

It didn't feel quite right, not sure why.

Well, i've finished the demo a few times now, and as I stated in the News thread I was excited about it, and y'know I still am...

I was genuinely enamoured by the demo, I hope there's bigger set peices in the final product, but the game was fun and solid, its use of the numerous different engines makes for a graphically pleasing experience even if the actual graphics are better in some parts then in others.

                Consider me sold. Pre-Order kept!

After a lot of good impressions in here I was excited for this demo, but it didn't do it for me. It's like a poor man's Psi-Ops. After all the tech talk that has been bandied around, it didn't seem that different from normal Havoc physics. If there was stuff going on, the graphics were too small to notice.

I disliked the way only certain objectes could be affected. The bit with the Tie Fighters and the girder was crap - it was obviously just placed there. if the rest of the game is like this, then all this tech will be for nowt.

Did anyone else find the right trigger wouldn't work sometimes. I'd face a barrel, press the trigger and nothing would happen. Press it again and the same. Yet the third time it would lift the barrel up. This happened consistently and made the force push (which was otherwise fun) into a chore.

This made me rely on the normal combat which is a bit gash. There's no weight to the combat or your enemies and their death animation are rubbish and don't seem to have the physics applied to them. What happened to limbs coming off like in the films?

I've played loads of crappy demos that have turned into great games and this is obviously an early level, but I'm surprised and the good comments coming from this very average, short level.

I cant see why people are even excited over this.

There's absolutely no weight to the combat at all, for what the feedbacks worth you might as well have a foam bat in the characters hand instead of a lightsaber.
Considering it uses the same engine as GTA4 as well (which had massive amounts of animation feedback and general solidness to the world) its quite disappointing.
Still cant chop a stormtrooper in half or decapitate people, droids seem to have pre made points that they chop in half, very disappointing and lazy.

Also, i can chop a droid in half, but not the atat at the end of the level (why cant i chop its leg off instead of another poxy QTE) even a simple poxy box cant be chopped in half.
The developer kept going on about being able to destroy the world around you in all the videos, i couldn't do anything to the tie fighter hanging up which the developer stated on several demos you could destroy and even throw around.

I know its only a demo, but it still reeks of lazy half arsed development thats merely trying to achieve a passable game, rather that being the epic AAA star wars game in every fans head.

You have to wait until your force bar is full enough to use the force powers, thats why you cant always use them, it recharges itself after a few seconds of rest. I'm sure if you wernt trying to find so much to complain about within the demo you may have noticed this fact.

Anyway Personaly I loved this, It felt like a much improved version of Jedi Knight 2/Jedi Academy but without all the pretentious mouse swirling Sabre action those games had on the PC (I know alot of people liked that, but I didnt)

                        Agree completely mate.

                        It just feels unfinished imo.

I also thought Crates in games had become a clich?

It's all to do with belief. The SA believes he can do anything with the Force. Hence the whole 'Unleashed' nonsense. Even Yoda with his "size matters not" routine is limited to an extent supposedly. Subconciously etc.

Basically a weak ass excuse to have OTT force powers in the game in order to prop it up. And also to have the SA do some things at the end of the game that devalue the OT a heck of a lot.......

Well in Star wars Yoda is controlling the force to do it not himself so doesnt matter on size.

That is cos it is a demo (sorry couldn't resist)

It is definitely not perfect but I can see it see it being a fun game.

The force stuff is a bit like the Silver levels in the recent Sonic game.
