I spent a good few hours on this last night making an ice cream van/music sequencer. I also think I got a bit carried away with placing lighting effects and stickers. My level is about half a minute long and my thermometer is already way high.

Enjoying making it very much though.

Keep the blocks you build simple. You can put a lot in the editor, but complex shapes eat up resources.

I discovered the joys of the copy function after creating two enemies as close as possible to each other I now have a whole army.

Ah, cheers for that. I do have a few mental shapes in there. I'll sort 'em out when I get back from work tonight.

While I'm at it...Say I place a face shaped sticker on a blank bit of square cardboard, anyone know if there's a tool that cuts off all the blank card bits in an instant rather than manually doing it? Dunno if that makes sense.

I don't think so, but the corner tool is better than trimming with another shape.

I just played somebodies level where they have built a car that transforms into a robot - pretty simplistic but a great idea! - it's in my favourites if anyone wants to check it out.

Currently I'm working on a boat ride, but I want the boat to be launched from a slip way and actually look like a boat, so I don't want to attach wheels to it. I also want to make sure the players can catch another boat if for some reason they die half way through the trip. It's ridiculously complicated for a very simple effect. Considering the end result will look much the same as simpler boat rides people have done I'm not sure why I'm going to the effort - I think I just love building this kind of thing!

You can use glass for the slipway, can't you? That should negate the need for wheels.

Yeah I did, most of it is in full working order - it's making sure the boat moves where it's supposed to and is capable of starting from the beginning again that is tricky!

Just a had a quick blast with Mr. Darwock before work (sorry I was a bit of a tool with the typing and such, still new to the PS3 and online stuff!). There's some great levels, loved Midnight Carnival even though it's nails.

I don't think that MM getting rid of the Mario levels and the like is hurting online at all. The best levels I've played so far are all ones that are original ideas built from scratch.

Online is grand, might have to get a headset soon though!

Try splitting the complex shape in to smaller pieces - what I often do is make the bits out of different materials at first, then glue them together, then apply the same material to the object. Building them as the same material from the start makes on continuous object.

Volcano goes almost to the upper limit of the map space. I had huge pillars propping everything up. I found I had almost no resources left, and just deleting a couple of these huge pillars and replacing them with a single block of Dark Matter really reduced my overhead - we're talking removing at least 1/6th of my total resources by removing TWO pillars! Complex shapes are an issue, and possibly the size of pieces.

I managed to ace what I didn't have on stages 1-3, and whilst 4 isn't majorly difficult, I struggled. Yep!

Number45, I can confirm that sub-accounts also get access to the DLC, but you have to log into the game once under each account after installing to make it available on a guest profile.

Are "sub accounts" simple other accounts you make on your PS3, or something else (I'm being dumb I'm sure!). So the missus and her account, if I pay (haha right!) for a costume, then she can access it somehow?

I've got the Kratos costume, but when we're both in the game, only I can access it. So does she need to turn the game on without me logged in for it to activate for her?

Yeah she needs to play it under her own profile. Then she'll get it. I think I used the wrong term when I said sub-accounts, as other profiles are actually master accounts aren't they?

I don't know how it all works mate. I'll use her account later and see how that works. That's certainly good news, makes DLC a little more worthwhile.

i just spent far too long making a very basic little level, but i'm not sure if i published it correctly. it said a key had been added to my inventory or something. does this mean i have to give people the key to try the level, or is it just there for anybody?
