    WipEout HD

The last WipEout game I played was Pure on the PSP a few years ago and although I cannot remember the names of the tracks or what options there was available within the game, I still remember how well it played and how seamless the transition from the PSP version to this HD version is.

The graphics are silky smooth and the picture/visual quality is outstanding - there are no ‘jaggies’ or tearing to be seen - it is all incredibly smooth and pleasing to the eye. The colour scheme vary from track-to-track to give each course its own separate theme if you will; I have only played three tracks so far and I am very impressed.

The music is the usual dance, trance and techno that has you tapping and bobbing your head as you play the game - it is a superb soundtrack that fits the atmosphere very well and is of modern standards.

So far, so good - the front-end is also very cool too.

    Have fun!

Got this earlier, its very much like the PSP games, features the same race modes and what not, the only major difference difference is that its HD and looks absolubtley beautiful.

Not sure what else to say right now really from the little bit of the game ive had chance to play so far, its just wipeout, but looking better than it ever has done. All there is too it really, so I'm sure everyone knows by now if they want to get it or not just from that.

I havent havent had chance to try online yet, will do when i get back from work tonight.

Looks great. Smooth as you'd hope. Shame I can only play in 720

Considering the toned down Zone mode, it's still pretty intense.

so is there a massive epilepsy warning on this? does it seem any more extreme than other wipeouts?

Being epileptic I have the fear of playing it, but also really want to!

Is it caused by photo-sensitivity? To be honest I imagine you'd be ok. Turn on the lights, turn the screen brightness down, I think that would help. But get better medical advice than that!

You get a warning when you first load the game, if you played F-Zero on the Gamecube without problems I'd say you'll be alright with this.

I'm on the 3rd set of challenges and have to say I'm loving it so far, I never played Pulse on the PSP so some of the tracks are still fresh to me. I just played Metropia for the first time and near **** myself when the first big dip came along, very cool track indeed. Haven't touched online yet so dunno what it's like, I'm gonna try and unlock a bunch of stuff in single player before I try it out methinks.

Absolutely fantastic game. I have not played the PSP versions before, so imagine that this is all new for me. My last Wipeout was part 3, which I consider to be underrated. This feels unchanged, which is great. New to me is the barrel roll, and its stylish + very functional.

I hope DLC will contain oldie tracks like Valparaiso, I loved that track.

Just played the first four "levels" on exhibition mode, got gold on all, although i did struggle getting one of them.

Love the game, well worth 12 quid and looks amazing in 1080p.

                      Downloaded in 70 minutes. Great.
Crashed my PS3 3 times in the menu screen. Not so great.

                      Can't fathom why.

                        Love it.

That good old Wipeout feeling comes flowing back right from the start. Kick ass music, a lot of speed and some aggressive AI (and that's only on the first batch of races). The courses also feel reassuringly familiar like old slippers (or codpiece if you prefer).

The only downside I've found so far is that you can't mix your own songs in to the tracks from HD - shame as I wanted to mix my MP3's of Pure in to create a bigger set list.

I suppose you could if you tracked down all of HD's songs in MP3 too, but that'd be a pain if you're a lazy bum like me.

                          what can i say?

it is wipeout in HD (stunning in 1080p btw)

but it is also a stunning visual AND audio tour de force
have had 1 online race 8 player no lag win!
zone is like being inside tron
                          at 6000 mph

if there is a better use of £12 on the psn i have yet to find it

                          buy it now!

with this and LBP Beta the ps3 is on fire recently!

Just logged in to my US account and it plays fine. Damn you last 17 people to have been added to my buddies list! Grrrr. Although perhaps it's more Studio Liverpools fault.
I guess it's to do with when the friends limit was upped from 50 to 100. Hope they get a patch out very soon.
