Crashed my PS3 3 times in the menu screen. Not so great.

      Can't fathom why.
Clear out some of your friends list, failing that play it signed out of PSN until they patch it.

it is wipeout in HD (stunning in 1080p btw)

but it is also a stunning visual AND audio tour de force
have had 1 online race 8 player no lag win!
zone is like being inside tron
          at 6000 mph

if there is a better use of ?12 on the psn i have yet to find it

          buy it now!

with this and LBP Beta the ps3 is on fire recently!
Is there even a better Ps3 game? I am totally addicted. Online as you said, is indeed lag-free and very sportive (RR7 ish). Because there are no crash tactics like GRID and GT, while there are (luckily) collisions. Its unfiltered and very fun.

Online, Zone, Speed lap, time trail, Race.. everything seems to be fun. I love the diversity in the Single player mode, and the challenge in Race Box on the hardest AI setting.

Is there an option to disable weapons for the online - as well as the use of assists?

The assists is indeed something that should be sorted, although I feel using assists make things worse.

              Weaps are Wipeout imo.

Just been playing this online and it's absolutely cracking. Played some tournaments and you instantly build rivalries with other racers on the grid.

Shame there's no friend invite into room option (if there is, please tell me) as it took AAGES to get my mate into a room with me.

Best game on PSN and possibly the PS3.

Really enjoying this. Haven't played much Wipeout since Wipeoout 3 years ago on the PS1 but this is a blast, looks beautiful and runs very smoothly.

I was messing around with the photo mode and took a few pictures of zone mode which is just ace.

                        This game is incredible!!

Why does nobody on PSN wear a headset though? I miss the smack talk from when you obliterate someone with a well placed Plasma shot

Does it support a headset? I've not tried mine but on the Socom: Confrontation beta plenty of people seem to be using their headset, though the game and the 'old socom I and II crowd' following lends to more use.

What can i say, have to echo everyone else on here - this is absolutely sublime! Takes me back to when i picked up a PS1 at launch and all i had to play was Wipeout. Just like then, this is jaw-droppingly good

Am i the only one who's beginning to question why this was released for a mere £11.99 via the PSN though? I mean i'm not complaining, but i could've seen this selling really well as a £30 (or even full priced) retail release.

I'm photosensitive and played an hour or so with no problems. Mind you I haven't had a seizure in almost 12 years now, so with any luck I've grown out of it.

WipEout's pretty evergreen, and this one is as good as you'd expect. It looks so nice and sharp in 1080p, all very smooth... and I still can't handle the higher speed classes to save my life. I did the first class in the campaign, but then I went online and it was very quick and easy to get a game, which isn't something you can usually take for granted with online PS3 games. No lag that I noticed, and of course it's already full of people who will wipe the floor with you.

                                Some things never change...
