I still need Chenghou Project & Sebenco Climb as well as the tournament in Meltdown.. I just do the tourny for practice because the longer I spend focusing on only one track the worse I get at racing round the others. For example I usually finish near the back at Vineta K now despite beating that relatively easily the first time round.

For Arcade Perfect I've only done 8/16 - Vineta K(forward/reverse), Anulpha Pass(forward/reverse), Moa Therma(forward/reverse) & Metropia(forward/reverse). I'm pretty confident on Ubermall so could do it next but I really want to get Chenghou out of the way. If I save it for last chances are I will never actually go back to it.

Sebenco Climb Reverse done. I can feel Arcade Perfect within my grasp now.

Only Ubermall Reverse and Sol 2 Reverse to go...

Is the online working for anyone else on this at the moment?

Trying to go to Online lobby greets me with an error message and none of the Friends or Global Leaderboards are working. PSN seems fine though and my brother is playing online CoD:WaW so it just seems to be WOHD.

          I BEAT YOU STUDIO LIVERPOOL!!!!

I now never have to play at your retardedly unfair Elite difficulty setting any more.

          I WIN!

I'm going to wake up in a few hours and find this is all a dream.

Spare a thought for those of us left behind Congratulations! Incidentally I have just seen proof of what cheating f**king scumbags the AI is - prior to the 1st corner at Sebenco the ship in front of me used a boost, and smacked straight into the wall a few ship lengths ahead of me - but STILL got round the corner ahead of me, at full speed.

I had been mostly using EG-X and Harimau, but switching around depending on the track. The meltdown tournament got me thinking I should stick with one specific ship so that I know the handling inside out - so I have started using Feisar as it has the advantage on the twisty tracks.

That's one of just many pieces of evidence to file away in the Elite AI Cheats drawer. Another that I spotted a few times last night was that it seems the AI doesn't have to wait for Missiles to lock on for them to track you. Too many examples where I boost past the CPU and the second I go past the announcer says Missile and I get blasted. It normally takes a few seconds to get a lock-on.

I've been trying to Beat Zico this morning and my record stands at 31.82 which is exactly 1 second off the target and I was struggling to see how to improve. My technique was to save boost for end of lap and use to just before crossing the line. Then I stuck to what I felt was perfect line nabbing all speed pads and boosting about halfway around the banked turn before the ramp. Then I'd barrel roll onto the ramp, hit the 4 speed pads then drop off onto the speed pads on the main track just before the end and barrel roll as I dropped.

When this didn't work I've resorted to Youtube vids that Darwock mentioned before Christmas and can't believe you can barrel roll twice on the straightish section before the track narrows. I'd never have thought to try that.

Will probably give it another go tommorrow.

Everything I've done the the game has been with Feisar. Not fast at all but the level of control it offers is superb. There were a couple of Time Trial/Speed Lap events in Campaign that had me tempted to switch to a faster team but in the end Feisar always pulled through.

The downside to this loyalty is that I have a job on my hands now to unlock all the other team skins for Livery Liberation.

Thanks to a hellish evening and morning I have finally managed to clear Chenghou and Sebenco in campaign and racebox.

Unfortunately what this means is that now I have to make serious attempts at the tournament.

I just checked and it has taken me 15 minutes of aborted attempts just to get past the first race without getting destroyed - even then I only placed 3rd. The chances of then surviving another 7 races on the trot without the AI blowing me to smithereens are tiny, never mind winning them! I continued anyway, got another 3rd and a 1st, but then I got blown up in two more races making it mathematically impossible to win, so I quit again.

I'm serious, my PS3 is going out the window if I keep trying this. Never have I suffered so much for a videogame!!!

Also - they can magically tell when you are about to launch a missile and drop mines to block it, even if you fire from point blank range - they know the exact moment your shield wears off so they can whack you with rockets (I'll admit very observant humans could do this, but it's still a stretch) but absolutely the worst is the way a Quake triggered by anyone other than yourself will basically send you from 1st to last... they all shrug it off while you are brought to a dead stop (or worse, drift off the track if you're on Sol 2 or somewhere without barriers). Any quakes in the course of this tournament and I'm f**ked.

Thanks will try out that ship. How about online as it seems at times I have kick me on my ship at times or is that just the nature of wipeout online?

You're probably encountering all the people who want the AG Assassin trophy - so basically yeah, you have 'kick me' on your ship. It was a really bad idea for a trophy I think... if they wanted to do it they should have made it a smaller number to keep people focused on racing.

I've been forced to stop for tonight due to pain in my hands.. got to put them in a basin of cold water for a while!! The best I could manage was 2 points behind with 2 rounds remaining.. unfortunately I got destroyed on the next race and was left 9 points behind with 1 race left.. so f**ked.

The pressure is on though, I want to get these polished off before my girlfriend returns from Vancouver, otherwise I won't have the time to commit to it. That only gives me about 10 days.

'Mmmm, the girlfriend or WipEout HD? Tough call.'

I am terrible at this game but I do enjoy playing it every once in a while.

                        10 days is plenty

In fact, your Bling Brigade and A.G. Assassin trophies make me think you'll reach Transcendence before me.

God, I did it... I went into the last race one point behind, but with everyone else only separated by a couple of points too, so nothing other than a win was going to do it. The AI did it's utmost to cheat me out of it, there were no less than THREE quakes while I was in the lead.. luckily they always hit at the last complex before the start/finish straight where going slow actually helped me. so I was able to cling on.

I think if you could pick up mine, Rare's and everyone else's ECL trophy, you would see an inscription on the bottom that reads "awarded for having the patience of a saint".. cos it certainly makes a mockery of the racing. During the course of earning this one I set several record race times, and not one of them earned me a gold. The victories usually came on much slower attmepts where the AI just decided I could have it.

So as to not lose motivation I went straight into Racebox to get the remaining four reverse tracks done, but again my hands are killing me so I've quit without any real progress.

By the way Rare, it's not a race to get Transcendence, don't stress (although I would probably have given up long before now if someone else wasn't going through the same ****, so it has helped!.)

lol I appreciate that, but when I posted I was feeling very cynical about ever getting A.G. Assasin or Bling Brigade unlocked.

After doing some online races this morning I'm a bit more confident about the 50 kills (picked up another 3) so if I dedicate some time to it this week maybe I can get it done. I'm using ships other than Feisar in these races so I'm at least earning loyalty for the extra shiper liveries too so even then it's not a total waste. Got all 4 skins unlocked for Feisar, Qirex and Pirahna so far.

However, my actions online are borderline griefing though. I pretty much focus on just killing people, not even atempting to race.

Maybe in this period I'll fluke a Bling Brigade too but I I may possibly have to sign up to somwhere like the Wipeout Zone forums and get in on one of the pre-arranged sessions.

Grats on the Elite Campaign Legend though =D

Thanks, I still think 10 days is not going to be enough to do the rest! I've been at Chenghou R for 4 hours already and not had a sniff of 1st place, despite getting a 2.07 finish on two occasions - which according to the records, is a second faster than you did it! I have only managed to come in 4th.

I hate the closet scouse manner in which the announcer says "MAAINES" too.

I wouldn't trust my entries on the Global Leaderboards too much. For some reason if when I boot up I don't enter an online option (either Online or Records) it doesn't seem to connect me so any records I do before then don't get uploaded.

I can tell when this has happened because when I finish an event the option to press Traingle to view Global/Friend Records isn't there. I don't know why it does it but it bugs me every time I forgot to "login" whenever I play.

I've got a few records on my Local Leaderboards that beat my Global entry but they never get uploaded.
