Holy **** next weeks DLC is amazing!

After seeing Thin Lizzy on GH:Metallica I was extremely envious but the DLC more than makes up for it. They're one of my favourite bands and cowboy song in particular is one of my faves.

The only negative point is that all the Thin Lizzy stuff is live versions. Personally I think live versions are hit or mainly miss in the case of the AC/DC pack. I hope they are true to the studio versions and don't have daft extended sections with nothing much happening. I'll still be getting them as it's Thin Lizzy, but I do have concerns...

I was wary of live versions (way back) but I love the live who songs and the ac/dc songs so I'm now worried at all.

Plus everyone knows the live at sydney opera house cowboy song is better than the studio version :P

Ok, more drum woes, the yellow pad is dropping way too many notes, and I can't unscrew it (too tight, screwdriver tore my skin ), is it possible to get a new one sent like they sent me a new pedal, or is that being way too cheeky? Don't want to drop ?220 on an ion kit, as I'm still not 100% into drums yet. Getting there, but then the yellow drops combo (and the red to some extent) and I get all ragey. >_<

If your kit is faulty then I can't see there being any problem with getting it replaced.

If the current exchange rate was better than it was, I'd have recommended that you mod your kit but it's probably not worth the current price for your needs.

As it is, if you're feeling a little brave, I'd recommend you try doing what this chap does on the two minute mark to at least get the yellow pad off. Depending on the cause of your problem, the vid might help you fix it too.

I did the coin mod first as my drums are EL model, but I wasn't getting results, some improvement but not enough. When I saw the other mod, where you take the head off and unscrew the bit in the middle, throw a part away and stick some cardboard circles in, I wanted to give it a try. Sadly, due to me being a wuss or the screwd just being way too tight, they won't come off the red or yellow insides. Managed to unscrew the blue and green (handy, I play with lefty flip) and mod those and they are amazing now, maybe one dropped note in 1000. So I'm extremely angry that the other two won't play nice >_<

Might just put a bunch more coins in there with this mod again... perhaps they'd be so kind to release the RB2 set here as well at some point. Or even the madcatz one.

At least you're playing lefty-flip so it's not as bad as it could be. Although I know how rage-inducing an unfair dropped note is, particularly when it so easily makes the difference between five-starring and gold-starring a song.

My yellow pad is cracked and double-registers at least twice in every song I play (I can tell it's double-registering rather than dropping as I end the songs with 100% but the combo is dropped) - I've been holding off for the PS3 Ion Drum Rocker which was meant to have been shipped to the UK in November, December, then January, now early this month.

It's making the wait for it incredibly frustrating, particularly seeing as it's been shipping in the US since November.

I've given up on the drums whilst I wait. A benefit of this is that it's meant that my guitar skills (which I've seriously neglected since GHII) have topped up nicely. A down-side is that I tried drumming Everlong last week after not drumming since before Christmas and got cramp

Well, re-modded the two delinquent pads with the coin mod.. again, to no real improvement... and then my second pedal snapped. >_< >_< >_< >_< >_<

Harmonix suck at everything that isn't making an actual game.

Is the madcatz portable kit due out anytime soon?

A quick couple of questions from somebody who's thinking of picking up this up now.
I've got the first game already. I know that I can buy some sort of unlocking key which lets me take nearly all of the first games songs across to the second. How does this work? Do they download or are they already on the second disc and this just unlocks them?
I've got a guitar and don't want any of the other instruments. Am I able to use the guitar to play bass, drums etc or do I have to have the proper instruments for each one?

You buy a licence key for 400 ms points, then it downloads them off the disc onto the HDD, then acts like downloadable content.

As far as im aware, the guitar can only be used for Guitar/Bass, you can use a headset for the mic though! But you have to use the drums for drums!

Cheers. I'm planning on getting rid of the first game as well as GH3 as soon as I get RB2 so &#163;2:49 on the PS3 seems like a fair price for the extra songs.

The guitar/bass tracks are the main ones for me. I've got the SingStar mics if I decide to take on the vocals at some time.
