Speaking of endings and the similarities with Oblivion, can you guys help me with a question without spoilers? From what i remember from Oblivion you could finish the main story and then focus on the side quests if you so wish. After talking with a workmate he syas if you finish the main story you end the game (which I don't want). Can you guys help me by telling me the name of the final quest (in spoiler tags) so that when I get to it I know to turn around and do all the other good stuff?

Second question is energy weapons, I've beefed up my small arms to 75 and am now looking at putting some points elsewhere. I'm thinking about beefing up energy weapons so I can eventually get the concentrated fire perk. Are energy weapons any good? They all seem to do less damage than regular weaponry and the ammo is much more scarce (raiders and mutants tend not to carry them), am I missing something about them?

      Final mission is called

      Taking It Back

. I haven't done it yet but I also asked someone else so I remember to save it before finishing the mission!

Got this Friday as it was £20 in gamestation for the 360.
Just got out and am in Megaton and at the moment feeling a bit dazed and confused.

Is there a light on the pip boy as I saw something flash up about light on it but cant seem to find how to turn it on.

Not really understanding the compass at the moment,I have 2 solid arrows,1 outline arrow,Set the marker on one of the missons but still have 2 solid arrows?

Can someone point me to a good FAQ ,dont want to read about missons just how every thing works.

            When you get to

            Vault 87

you're on the final stretch where the quests rapidly lead to the end of the game. The quest

            Taking It Back

mentioned above is the last one. I think you'll want to save at the end of the quest before it

            The American Dream

as the first you'll know of being on the last quest is when it shows on the screen, by which point it may be too late.

              I've not even found
in my game. I do however have
running around with me. He's almost indestructible too, although a

              Super Mutant Behemoth

is a bit too much for him on his own as I found out last night!

I'm only a few hours in so the only EW I have found is the laser pistol. Based on stats it does look quite weak. However, it seems to have a random chance of vaporising the target isntantly It seems to happen between 30-50% of the time and that's at low levels (I'm only level 7 or 8 and my EW stat was only 20 until I started pumping it up )

Ammo isn't so much of an issue when it only takes 1-3 shots to vape a target, but if you need it you can either fight and kill the protectron robots wandering around the wastes (there's usually some hanging around the river, fighting Mirelurks) or check in ammo crates inside vaults etc.

                I know the feeling.

Turning on the light depends on the version - on the PC the default is to hold the tab key down for a couple of seconds. It illuminates a little pool all around you rather than working directly in front like a torch so it's pretty useless unless you're hunting for items inside and using third-person view.

As for the compass... Why not read the manual? Basically the largest arrow is your quest objective (if you have one), the tiny filled arrows are locations you have visited before, the outline little arrows are locations you haven't yet visited, and if you set your own objective marker on the Pip-Boy Map screen it appears as a large outline arrow. Enemy and friendly NPCs, monsters etc appear as either red or green marks on the compass.

Note that the main quest arrow shows you next place you need to go in order to get to the quest location. This may well be nowhere near the actual quest location however and may even be in completely the opposite direction! This usually means that to get to the proper place you're going to need to go through subways etc. I have tried a more direct route a couple of time but both times i ended up in places that were surrounded by massive walls of junk that I couldn't get past.

As long as you save before you enter

                    the rotunda

                    in the

                    Jefferson Memorial

, you can go back and do whatever you want to.

Thanks for that ,I did read the manual but still have two large arrows ,more likely I am reading it wrong. Will start my PhD in Fallout 3 compass reading tonight LOL.

I am still in the early stages having returned to Fable 2 incessantly (curtailed by the dreaded RROD today). Needless to say I am playing on the PS3 (just as well I have the PS3 as it is currently my only Internet access as to add insult to injury my PC died at the end of last week!).

I bought the guide (460 very detailed pages) which I can refer to if necessary.

On my return to the game I have been exploring to get some more locations on the map. I am about 20% of the way to Level 5 so still a little vulnerable. At the moment I seem to favour a Sledgehammer as a weapon. I regularly return to Arefu to sleep to restore my health as this seems the cheapest option at the moment. I really need to find somewhere to stash some of the stuff that is filling my inventory.

Is there a way to check spoilers in this topic with a PS3?

If you do the Power of the Atom quest in Megaton (and it was the first thing I did quest-wise, it literally takes seconds to do) you get your own house in Megaton, including some lockers, cabinets etc where you can safely stash items. You can leave items pretty much anywhere but often a lot of them will disappear.

Also I don't understand why you're sleeping in Arefu (in the house left empty by the murders I presume?) since fast travelling via the world map to Megaton only advances the game clock forward a couple of hours and even if you don't have a house of your own you can sleep in the common house.

Speaking of your sleeping and houses what is the point of buying the

                            medical centre for your house?

It says it can heal limbs etc but since there is a bed that does just the same thing for free why is it worth spending 1700 caps?

Maybe I'm doing something really stupid, but it wouldn't let me sleep in any of the beds in the common house...

the medical kit removes rads too, so you don't have to pay a doctor or use radaways.
