I've gotta agree with a number of posters here.

Finished it last wkend and it really, really bored me,. Same thing, in a different setting over and over again. I kept waiting for it to really kick off and impress me as it were and just kept trundling along to the next objective and suchlike. Can't say I was that impressed graphically and overall either. But then after playing Dead Space anything is gonna have a tough time production values wise imo. I just have no desire to play it through again, suppose I'll give the mp a whirl but l4d is calling...

I'm just very dispaponted I guess. I appreciate many if not most will love it but just didn;t work for me. Shame...

I loved the single player. Shame that quite a few of you arnt enjoying it but I found it to be one of the strongest sp experiences out there.

Just finished campaign on co-op mode. Was pretty good fun. Nothing that blew me away, just more of the same. Seeing as I only finished the first one when I got a 360 recently, I feel I can say safely, with no rose-tinted specs, that there's really not much between them. Both thoroughly enjoyable though.

Yes it is, I played the PAL version on my NTSC-J 360

I enjoyed the single player too, I'm currently on my second play through. You only have to play something like Resistance 2 to realise just how much GoW2 gets right. Epic in their design have made it look so effortless, but in reality it is an extremely solid and highly tuned action game.

So I finally finished this today.

This was my first time through and I did it on hardcore, which definitely felt like the right difficulty. A couple of tough bits but it's much more satisfying and anyone who's finished the first one shouldn't have any problems with it.

My major sticking point and the reason why it took so long for me to finish it was that Act 4 seemed to sag a fair bit in the middle. It went on for so long and I just got completely bored of the

              Locust city

theme, as pretty as it was. Thankfully Act 5 was spectacular and possibly the best in the game, even if the

gauntlet at the end was a fairly lame way to finish it

. Still, I'm just thankful that it didn't have a boss as evil as Raam, who I still maintain was impossible to beat alone on hardcore.

Overall it's a better game than Gears in pretty much every respect and met my expectations. I just hope that when Gears 3 inevitably shows up they either push the formula a bit further or at the very least aim to get the whole thing up to the standard of the best bits in this game.

And as I was typing this I just saw the bit at the end of the credits. I completely forgot about him and I guess that's Gears 3 confirmed, then

                Nahhh.
I would of agreed with you before but I went back to Gears 1 after completing Gears 2 and nailed Raam on my own within 3 attempts

Insane however.... bloody hell doubt I'll ever manage on my own! However he wasn't that hard on co-op Insane both piling him full of torque bows, sniper bullets and lancer shots.

Raam on insane in Gears 1 on your own is easy guys, you tube is your friend .

Well I never killed him on Insane but Hardcore was piss easy once I stopped listening to everyone telling me to use the bloody sniper rifle and just pumped him full of Lancer instead. Went down so quickly.

I wonder how many people who didnt enjoy this much only played it on the normal difficulty.

You have to wonder as the game dosent feel right on anything below hardcore.

Its hard to imagine a fan of shooters wouldn't enjoy it on the harder difficulties though (or at least not once it really picks up half way through act 2) becuase as a whole the game is just class.

I finished this last night in co-op, and annoyingly it hasnt given me the achievement for doing so. Me and a mate played through the whole game over about 3 or 4 sessions, yet it has activated bugger all for me. Very annoying. Is there any way i can check which levels i still need to go back and do to get the achievement?

Did you do the training at the start?

I reckon they made this a little easier in Hardcore mode this time around. I, naturally, play it on Insane It's a completely different game with the difficulty upped. Rather than make the enemies freak-powerful like in the last game they just make your health a lot weaker whilst the enemy become more aggressive and accurate. The move, cover, fire mechanics really come into their own when you can't just wander around in the open, casually aiming around.
