Yeah MJ, that was by far the best story moment of the game for me.

I finished the game earlier, a very enjoyable summer blockbuster-type experience throughout. I was hoping for for the plot and for all the hype I didn't think the story was any better than the original. The game world they've created is still interesting but all they seem to care about is getting from one set piece to another so it doesn't hang together particularly well.

Short but enjoyable, and at times the most visually impressive game I've ever seen.

Having finished this im a bit dispointed with the story.there didnt seem to be any real pay off in the end.

Still an awesome game, just saying.

I've just looked all over epics forums, and searched on google with no luck.

        I CAN'T PLAY CAMPAIGN.

I've tried deleting the map pack, the gold lancer and clearing the cache, no change.

Haven't been able to play this much all weekend so this really sucks

        Anyone know of a fix?

What the hell i can't do anything! It's not letting me play multiplayer now

Got it working Signed out and signed back in. Did the trick (i think) loaded up right after i pressed A anyway.

Dunno if it's relevant, but I couldn't play Too Human because I had the Scene-It wireless adapter plugged in. Not sure if you're suffering the same problem?

Nah, it happened to my mate before as well. Only thing I have in my 360 is a play and charge cable plugged into my controller.

I had the same problem. My save for the solo campaign refused to load up. Clearing the cache seemed to work for me, though.

I assume this is the middle part of a trilogy, so the story is all about setting things up that will pay off later. You did continue to watch until after the credits, didn't you?

Because it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger.

Ahh no i didnt, thats annoying, if they are gonna put a section after the credits they should make sure that people see it instead of just letting you go back to the menu. You should be able to skip past the credits and to that scene.

I remember they did the same with Halo 3 and i missed the bit at the end the first time too. What happens at the end?

To be honest though i dont think whatever happens will make up for the fact that theres no real climax to the game from a gameplay standpoint and the games story completely loses focuses on the characters by the end.

Don't beat yourself up - you haven't missed much. It's just a bit of a tease for Gears 3. Big ass post credits spoiler

A radio transmission crackles into life. A man's voice is heard. "This is Adam Fenix. Is anyone there? Can you hear me? This is Adam Fenix. Can you hear me? Oh no, what have you done?"

Agree with you, though. I don't think the Gears series is ever going to be regarded as a classic for its narrative. There's subplots that don't lead anywhere. I mean, I felt like I had somehow missed out on major details of the backstory. Like there was a Gears equivalent of The Animatrix I hadn't seen, or something. Despite that,

and a weak final boss, if you can even call it that,

I did find the end satisfying, though. At least in an eye candy kinda way.

The narrative criticism is something I'd apply to the game structure too, certainly in the first one more than this though - it never felt like there was a build to a climax. When I got to the end of the first one, I had no idea it was the end until I was hit with an end sequence and then the credits. The levels could have been shuffled randomly and I probably wouldn't have noticed. Part of the reason I think it was criticised for lack of length was down to a lack of build, raising the stakes to a climax, than simply the amount of hours. It just felt abrupt.

The sequel, however, I am finding to be a less guilty of that. Certainly the last act feels like a last act to me and the game couldn't be so easily shuffled. But... am I right that the events in Act 3 (with the

                      research lab

) amounted to nothing more than a location? It seemed like it was going to play a big role with

Command taking over and the Sires and whatnot and then suddenly

nobody mentioned anything that happened and nobody seemed to care a damn, including the people who gave them their orders. It was like

"You've found what? Yeah whatever. Just get out of there", like they were doing that thing you do when you go into a room but you forgot why you were going in there in the first place.

                      Or did I miss something?

Don't think you've missed anything. I had the same thoughts regarding the

                        facility.

That whole section felt like padding to me. I don't even remember firing my gun much during that section, which was a bit of a let down after all the suspense it built up.

I think it was Dom that took care of most of the wretches, and I just picked up any leftover strays.

Playing this again on insane and am stuck, not becuase insane is harder, but becuase the game has the lamest mounted machine gun turrets ever that overheat after 5 seconds, I'm on the bit near the beggining where you have to

shoot the mortars down and shoot down the reaver

and its just daft, it was luck that i managed it on my first playthrough and it looks like I will need some again too.

Its moments like this that make you wonder if the depelopment team only play tested the game in coop and forgot you could play it solo altogether.

Im still on my first playthrough, man im loving this, perhaps too much. Must admit I didnt always feel this fuzzy about it though, at first I was a bit underwhelmed by the fact its just Gears 1.5, but after accepting that im loving it, so much so I went hunting for a lancer no luck though...

I thought they said enemies could kick the shield down when you place it in the ground for cover. I've yet to see one do it, they just keep running into it which is particularly useful in Horde if you're in the right place.

I suffered from the same problem. A friend of mine suggested just using the Lancer for the

                                Nemycyst mortars

and then the same again but with active reloads for the
. There's no overheating and the Lancer is far more maneouverable whilst aiming.
