    Oh. My. God!

That's about all I can say at the moment.

Oh alright, constructive comments: looks stunning, plays very well (had to up the sensitivity on the horizantal look), sounds immense.

Nothing can touch it graphically - there's just so much going on. I properly yelped when I killed one of the Helghast and then kept shooting him to see what happens to the body. Being sent in all different directions he was!

    Fave bit was

when, in the warehouse, I shot the wooden crate with the gas cans in it. Shot one of those and it ignited and zoomed about a bit before taking out a couple of Helghast!

If the rest of the game can live up to the stantards set by this demo then it will be one of this generations high points.

Is it true that the Sony studios share tech? I can see some of the lighting effects and particle stuff looking amazing in forthcoming stuff like inFamous!

    Roll on 27th February!!!

      I didn't notice the blur

I loved it - I'm really getting into the cover system - seems very cool almost as rock solid as R6:V

Very hyped for this game now!! Although I'm so many games behind on my list to buy no doubt it'll take me a few months to pick it up

The cover dynamic is horrible actually, now that I have played this. It should be like Gears, as in one button to stick to walls and then freedom of movement after that. I went back to GoW2 after the demo and it feels so much better to me, anyway. Fair enough, it's just a demo but games like Gears or CoD have perfected the controls, for their genre. I am so used to zoom on the left trigger, that pressing the stick for zoom seems alien now. Alternative 2 is like CoD4 as stated earlier so will try.

Anyway, looking forward to the full game.

Gave this some proper attention last night and it is indeed rad. When I got to the warehouse I had big fun shootin up the enemy to see the different reactions to different body hits. Then went all Butcher Pete with the hunting knife on their deadbodies, you can scalp off their helmets for maximum sickness. Also the jump in this game is wicked, running around volting over stuff being much more enjoyable than any other FPS I've played.

I think they do - sure I read it somewhere.

Anyway, finally completed Resistance 2 last night and whilst watching the credits noticed that they doffed their cap to Guerilla Studios and Naughty Dog.

Didnt think it was that amazing at first but after playing the demo five times, this is now a day one purchase

Gears 2 was a great game, no doubt about that, but this does just confirm it's Vegas cover for me all the way. R6V and this I hardly ever stick to things unless I specifically wanted to - anything that uses the toggle system I'm doing it far too often. I can get used to Gears, certainly, but every time I go sticking to a wall when I'm trying to dash past something or roll into danger when I'm trying to vault forward it makes me gnash my teeth in rage. Hold trigger, release trigger, like here, just feels so much more intuitive.

that's actually my point. it's overdone. just look at the textures of a wall while standing still then turn even the slightest and the wall gets a blurry mess.

what display are you using? maybe it's true that big HDTV displays amplify this motion blur effect or make it more obvious if you want.

I've got a 32" LCD, which is fine for pretty much everything else, I just think it's this game.

I've played through the demo 3 times now and I don't see what the fuss is about, yes the visuals are pretty impressive but the gameplay seems like standard FPS fare. The demo being shockingly short doesn't help matters and neither did the fact that one of the AI characters got stuck in some scenery meaning I had to restart the demo on my first play through. I'm hoping to blag a free promo copy from a mate at Sony but if that falls through I'll wait for a price drop before I pick it up. Demo gets a big meh from me.

I can't see what the fuss is about either. The whole experience felt so uninspired - just another mindless shooting gallery. I love the hit animations - nice to see someone continue from where GE and PD left off - but was bored after just 15 mins. Pre-order cancelled.

H-Man, Honestly though its like the RE5 demo. Its a short action peice from the game ripped out with no story or background and so you have no sense of involvement or anything. We really shouldnt be judging the game from the demo, as its just that, a demo. Its lacking Story, and online. You know, the thing that actually makes a game! RE5 looks like Gears with no story but i'm sure there is a good story in it. Also the demo was not even 15 minutes long. How you can cancel a pre-order for a game that reviews are raving about and people that have the full game saying how awesome it is, especially online, after a 8 minute demo is beyond me, and shows that this game no matter how good, will always be so critisized, and that is bull****.

The controls however i guess you can, and i think there perfect. Well ALT 2 is.

But c'mon people its an 8 minute demo. Wait for the full version before passing your verdict.

Shame, some people will be missing out on a top quality FPS here. Would be interesting to know, are the people who are saying "what is the fuss about?" comparing this to other FPS games or do they just not like games in the genre?

Without trying to sound like an idiot or anything, but i can bet that the people who are *Pre-order cancelled* mainly game on 360. Its not just here its all forums i go to, and in those cases they do game primarily on 360. Which does show you its just a bit of fanboyism at play. I know it, i've seen it. Its pathetic.

As i said how can one judge a game lacking one of the best MP components ever (from people in the Beta, people like you and me that have played it) and its full single story campaign is beyond me. Its an 8 minute demo! It just gives a taste.

I'm telling you there is fanboyism going on at play here. Sure not on everyone, but some people there is. I have seen it on other forums. You dont open a book halfway and read 4 pages and decide if its good without reading from the start.

I appreciate the full game will offer more, but also felt that what the demo offered wasn't any good. I'm not a fan of shooters that ask no more than point a gun at bad guys and pull a triger till they fall over.
