one thing i do wish though....i wish there was a more advance parry system....dont get me wrong i think what they have done here is great but it would be really cool if i can focus against multi hit moves
one thing i noticed i always made the mistake after a focus or a stun of trying for a big combo ending with a ultra or super....notice that even after a few hits ....the ultra or super is nerfed quite a bit...usually best after a stun just to do the utlra or super seems to do more damageLast edited by eastyy; 04-04-2009, 14:31.

What a muppet. He's complaining about losing? Reminds me of that guy called Wimplow in Kung Pow, who thinks losing is winning
I was expecting him to wipe the floor with the Ken guy. Fact is, he did a combo or two and some focus cancels but otherwise it seemed to me like their skill levels were on par with one another. He hardly punished any of the missed dragon punches at all, and after laughing at the Ken guy's missed ultra, HE HIMSELF misses his!
Surely one round is all it takes to realise you have a 30 second time limit and to go on the offensive as a result? At least it was best of 5 rounds, for Pete's sake. The comments section for that video is raping him over it, good thing too.

This is aimed at nobody in particularly, but the amount of whiny little bitches playing this game is of monumental proportions. Oh no, a Ken player spamming moves put in the game by the developers that have been everpresent since god knows when. If you can't beat someone spamming the same moves over and over (especially hadokens and dragon punches), you probably need to question your own ability and not someone elses. If you can't punish someone dragon punching all over the screen then you are ****. It strikes me that the Rufus player is the one with a false ranking.
The wanker (and he is a wanker, no question in my mind) in the video above lost because he was ****, plain and simple. Whining about 30 second rounds? If he used his ****ing eyes he'd have seen it was 30 second rounds before he joined. As for why it was 30 seconds, maybe the host was in arcade mode trying to unlock the last few characters and upon fight request coming in he hanged to 5 rounds to at least make it a worthwhile match? Just cos he has high BP doesn't mean he's unlocked all the characters. I too thought he was gonna annihilate the Ken player, otherwise he'd just look a pathetic little ****. Probably another one of the ragequitting sons of bitches we all come across every night.
Also, considering that Rufus user was complaining about spammage, I found it quite funny to see his Rufus do the ONE combo he knew every chance he got, followed by a few pokes and jabs. My advice to him would be to spend far less time masturbating over his youtube videos and practice being able to hit an ultra when the other player has whiffed his.Last edited by Jebus; 06-04-2009, 15:15.

Good post Jebus! That guy commentating on the vid above is a complete nob, I'm pretty sure I saw some of his vids of HD Remix where he was constantly whining about lag but when it came down to it he was basically ****ing **** at the game like he is at SF4. The Ken player was terrible but if you cannot take advantage of all those opportunities to punish missed Shoryukens you cannot blame anyone but yourself.

Ken is a really good character to start with, very accessable for newcomers. Once you are able to get good with him and mix up his combos with specials supers and ultras he's a good character. I personally am fond of his combos, especially cancelling out of a dragon punch into his super. I think a lot of Ken players would be playing as Ryu if his Ultra/Super didn't leave him just SO vulnerable when missed. Most casual players won't know how to make sure it always connects so will miss, and Ryu has the slowest recovery from an Ultra I've seen, which I think puts people off, so they move to Ken. I've always been a Ken player so it's not an issue, but I'd bet a lot of the Ken players are former Ryu ones.
I personally play extremely aggresively as Ken and you won't see me do many Hadokens apart from within a combo...the odd defensive one of course but I find it odd people complain about the use of certain moves. Should I not play as Ken because other people don't like him? Should I never use one of this three specials moves because if I do, it's spamming? It's bull**** of the highest order and I don't understand it. All I come up against is Sagat's and imho he's way overpowered, but that's the game! To whine about it just a waste of everybody's time!
So my number 2 is Balrog (Boxer), where I play the opposite to my Ken, very defensive but when I get the window, I try to punish with his very strong attacksI absolutely adore his Ultra, SO powerful looking. However, I'm still learning Boxer and so I can't combo much with him. Also like playing as Cammy, she's so bloody fast that alone is a weapon in itself!
I'm by no means an amazing player, just average to good and can hold my own against the Seany's of the world but I play for fun. If you want fun from this game, avoid playing randoms as they WILL frustrate you, just like in every other game with a multiplayer.

Superb post by Jebus, this is why I decided to stop playing SFIV and got rid of it. Quite a few veteran SF players have this incredibly elitist attitude and it really gets to me.
Like Jebus said Ken is a character most beginners can get to grips with easily, it eases them into the game. Does that mean those players should be harassed by the more experienced players?! I mean if someone thinks they are that good then they shouldn't have a problem dealing with the "spamming" of "n00bness" of someone playing as Ken.
It is sort of like the people who used to complain about players using Inter Milan in PES6, I never had too much of a problem with that personally. Like I said, if you're good enough then you really shouldn't have a problem defeating the "n00b" player!Last edited by ezee ryder; 06-04-2009, 16:32.

There's no problem with Ken. It's always just been an observation that Ken is all over the SFIV online airwaves. I don't believe people are being "harassed" because they're using Ken. I think a few people have read this thread a bit wrong. Yes, the player using Ken above was spamming mostly 2 moves, but like others have said, he would probably get punnished by a more experienced player. He's probably just new to the game. Every new player, including myself go through that phase. Don't get rid of the game because you think everyone is against you for going Ken.
