Something seems really off about the jumping too, I always overshoot when going deep for a combo, and the charging is weird too, I've played guile since SF2 and it just feels terrible with him, like I'm handicapped or something. Maybe I am

its no 3rd strike or SSF2X is it..

Had my 1st go at ranked online, as Cammy. Soooo many Ken's and Ryu's, generally not problem unless they turtle and turns my fight into a weak cannon drive poke fest . Only major problem i have is with Sagat players crossing me up when i get in close.. i really need to learn the saving attack stuff.

      Great game.

What you have to remember is that nothing is actually "off" as this is a new SF game with new mechanics and mcgubbins. In that respect it's no previous SF game. It's been based on SF2 as a starting point, then epxanded on. I personally think this is the best SF yet.

Sorry to be facetious, but make up your mind =P

And SF4 is SF4. It's not quite either of those other SF games.

I will say that I like zangief in this one, despite his super easy SPD. Can really annoy people with that. I just played and scared a ryu into just spamming fireballs at me because he was scared I'd get too close. haha

                *own opinion shocker*

                how dare I!

what with the massive hype wave I should be surfing on too.

sorry, I should have bought it on 360 and ps3 as well as 15 tournament sticks to fully appreciate it.

I forgot my £120 gremlin order of restrictor plates and sanwa buttons , doh

Well, no, I'm not saying you're wrong to not like it XD

My point was that SF4 is SF4. It is what it is, and that is not quite 3rd Strike or SSF2X. Y'know, something a bit different. Which, I think, is fair enough because, as you said, if it were a simple 3D remake why not just go play the originals, right? =P

It's well within your right not to like it, is what I mean. I just don't see much sense in blaming it for not being like the other two.

I meant quality wise, not 'similar' wise

not that I really care, but do you think the 'pros' will stick with this? I think they'll be back on 3S/2X in no time, they just seem deeper. I know this game has been noob simplified, and I'm not saying I'm not any good because of that, but .. oh bollocks to it I don't know what I'm saying..

ken players are getting on my nerves, as well as people who wait for you to choose, and if you don't choose and just sit there, they sit there too great.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that too actually. But they seem pretty happy with the arcade version which has been out for, what, at least a year? I don't know if they see it as a replacement for the other games though, since they still seem to play 3S/SSF2X.

I welcome Gief's shortcut SPD. Easier to pull off, but a game of patience getting in against the large waves of shotos. Easier to pull off, but how many new challengers will attempt to take advantage only to whiff a shed load? I dunno. It's not like Geif's too good. In the right hands he can be lethal. I think a good shoto player gives a good Gief player a mini nightmare. I think there's a good balance here.

There's actually a shortcut for dragon punches too. Double tap DF and P

If I encounter another like that, I'll take it into consideration. Most of the time after I blocked the headstomp he flew back too far for me to even bother trying the uppercut counter. The couple of times I did manage to catch him out I wrecked him but it wasn't enough to win the match...

I havn't noticed anyone else mention this, but the instructions in challenge mode is a nightmare on a standard def tv.

I was playing it on my plasma downstairs with no problem, but now I'v been 'relegated' to my games room for a while, and only have a standard def 32" widescreen tele, and I can't make out half the inputs. Very poor show by Capcom.

Ken & Ryu are generally my first choices in SFIV yet there seems to be a lot of hate towards Ken & Ryu players. Are Ken & Ryu considered cheap? I never mind fighting against other Ken & Ryu players.

It's not hate so much as weariness from fighting them all the time. It's your game man, play who you want to play.
